Can Anyone be a White Paper Writer?

You may or may not know what a white paper is so if you don’t this is it. They are papers that have the purpose of persuading businesses or organizations to to say yes. That is it really. They first came about in around 1920 in Great Britain, they did exist before that date though. They were just given that name around that period in time. Winston Churchill actually had a really famous paper in 1922. 

They are used quite often in the IT industry at the moment. IT businesses will appoint someone to pen a white paper for them in order to to market a particular product or idea. The product is often marketed to another organization rather than the consumer. For example if a company was develop a software that could help companies to store much more information, the company would promote this to organizations to get them to buy into it. 

A white paper author would be hired to write the white paper. In some cases a someone who is actually employed by the company would do this for them. Often enough though a freelancer would be hired to do the job for them. 

They are typically about six to eight pages long, it does depend though, because sometimes they can be much longer than this. There are times when you will find that they are about 20 pages long or even more than this. Political papers can be several hundred pages long, it really does depend on the topic and target audience of course. White paper writers can be paid up to $5,000 for a piece of work. You have to bare in mind though that it can take about two weeks to complete a project. Therefore; it is the kind of thing that only very focused individuals can undertake. If you are the kind of person who cannot concentrate.  on one thing then you will find it very difficult to do. Not to say you wouldn’t be able to do it however; you would just find it pretty hard.
