Improve your writing

Blogging vs.. Freelancing

Many writers I keep contact with don’t know the difference. Do you? Read this article to find out.

In the world of writing for the internet, there are two ways you can go. You can either be a blogger, or a freelancer. They both might seem to be the same thing, but there are many differences.

Blogging is a really fun thing to do. All you need is a blog, and a creative mind. Once you have these two, think of all the things you know well enough to write about, and find stuff to write about that deal with that same topic. In just a few posts, you will get all into blogging.

But don’t expect to make money with your blog right away. Making money from a blog takes a lot of time, and a lot of good quality content. Usually, what you have to do is wait for your blog to attract a lot of traffic on it’s own, and when you get a good, long, and constant stream of traffic everyday, you monetize your blog with adsense, paid advertisements, and VideoEgg stuff.

Freelance writing, on the other hand, doesn’t take very long to make money from. All you have to do is write very high quality articles without personal opinions attached, and sell each article for a good cash reward.

However, it isn’t very fun to do. If you want to be a freelance writer, you have to be a really good writer. You usually need to know a lot about the topic you write about in each article. Most projects, however, don’t involve the same thing that the previous project did. And what really sucks is that you have to get each freelancing project done within a certain deadline, usually a week or two. This can be especially hard when the project involves writing twenty or thirty articles. This is why most people just chose to create a blog instead of freelance writing.

If you are one of the people trying to chose between freelancing and blogging, I would tell you to stick to blogging from experience. At the beginning of my writing part time job, I thought it was better to be a freelancing ghostwriter making ten to thirty dollars an article. But later on, I realised how hard it was to write about something you know nothing about, and yet write a flawless article. So that’s why I gave up that hot job, and decided to dive into the world of blogging. You should do so, too.
