Basic Knowledge for Writer’s Success

There are some fundamental things that a freelance writer should know if he/she wants to succeed.  These things concern both the blogging and the freelance writing.

The first is commitment. We writers have the privilege not to work for another person. But this is also our curse. Since no one is above our head, we are prone to temptation of not working at all. Forcing ourselves to work with program, method and goals is the basic commitment we should make with ourselves and our readers.

Besides this, we should always remember that our reputation as writers is a contract between us and the readers. We display our thought and ideas and they read, comment, express their own thoughts and we all finally construct our lives through this process.

A second thing we should have in mind, when we construct our blog, is that it is better for us to have a specific theme (or niche) that we deal with. This is less confusing for the reader and makes it more possible for us to acquire followers. A blog that contains too much conflicting information repels every user and destroys our profile.

Last but not least – in fact this is the most basic factor of success – we should write our own, original ideas. Stoling another’s thoughts is not only immoral (since it’s plagiarism) but also a key to failure. None of us wants to read the same things stolen from another person.
