At Long Last

The road has, at times been rocky, and I have had my doubts from time to time about whether or not I would ever actually get to this point in the triond journey, but I am finally there, and have planted my flag on this what was, when I first began, A seemingly insurmountable obstacle.

Actually, this a day for double celebration, because not only have I, on this very day, reached the target of 100 posts published in July, but I have also finally crossed that barrier of 1,000 posts published since I first signed up on December 12th 2010. That might, to some seem like avast number on a short time, but I did have loads of stuff on file from over a decade of writing, though more than half of  the 1,000 are new posts.

it is actually quite difficult to describe just how I feel, though there is, despite the joy of getting to the target, a certain sense of ‘is that it?’  I had expected to feel more elation, but instead I am busily planning the next phase and eyeing the next set of targets. I have posted stuff there, though it may take a while before earnings start to show. Has to be worth it though, if only for the extra exposure your work will get. The more members there, the more you can earn, so signing up yourself helps the ause for you as well.  

There may well be people writing for triond only  part of the time, so the thousand posts target could be a long way off, but all it takes is the determination to get there, the effort of posting regularly, and the belief in yourself that keeps you going, whatever the disappointments. I am lucky enough to be able to give all my attention to this site, so I have an unfair advantage in that sense,but no edge is worth a damn if you don’t apply yourself.

I reached the other main target of my ambitions a week ago, when I got beyond 100,000 views, but now that I have achieved the other temporary goals I had in mind, I just need to come up with others, to keep myself motivated to keep moving onwards and upwards.  Next aims are 2,000 posts and a quarter million views. Maybe this time next year I will be breaking out the bubbly once again, but for today, I shall simply bask in my own reflected glory for a while, as I ponder completing the Herculean task behind me, and wonder how I shall get on with the challenge ahead.
