Associated Content is Ahead: Triond is Working on Overtaking It

With five days yet to go in my little writing experiment, Associated Content has taken the lead in the earnings but Triond is a close second and gaining fast.

With five days to go on my little experimental writing contest, Triond has fallen behind Associated Content. However, the reason for this is that I received three upfront payments this months. Even with those payments there is still enough time for my Triond content earnings to close the gap.

Both Ehow and Factoidz have fallen slightly behind Triond and AC and unless my views on those two sites pick up they could be out of the running. However, if one of my articles from either of those sites gets stumbled they could catch up pretty quickly.

It is shaping up to be quite an exciting race and at this moment looks like it could go down to the wire before a winner can be truly pronounced.

In the meantime, I have been calculating some interesting information from each the sites and it seems like each site is beginning to have its own preference for the types of articles I write.

While readers on this site both from inside Triond and out seem to pretty much read anything I write which is good quality historical articles tend not to do as well as most of my other articles. However, Historical articles do well for me on associated content and with the exception of one craft article, they are the only articles that I have submitted on AC that has gotten me an upfront payment.

While over at Ehow whenever I publish a recipe it tends to do well, as do craft articles.

I do have one craft article on Factoidz that is doing extremely well but overall on that site my education articles seem to get a lot of votes. So, it looks like readers on each site have their own little niches and I will be publishing my articles accordingly.

Interestingly enough both my AC and Triond earnings have taken a nice jump this month, with Triond running far ahead of last months pay period with several days still to go.

And while my Bukisa earnings are still the pits, this month I have doubled the income from there over the 4 other months combined. Though at the current rate I am earning on that site it will take another two years before I reach the minimum payout.

I also found two new writing sites I am going to try out if time permits so next months competition may be a completely new ball game.

While this little competition has been fun for me, it has also revealed a lot of valuable information that hopefully will make me a more successful writer. Knowing which kinds of articles get the most views on which site is only one of the many things I have been learning.

I am looking forward to sharing some of this information as soon as I get it all analyzed.

Until then keep your fingers crossed for Triond!

    This is VERY interesting!!
I find Bukisa does very well through Google for me whereas if I do nothing Triond can grind to a halt (and the payout is higher, of course at Bukisa).

Also, in doing your comparison, have you taken advantage of all their features (eg having referrals at Bukisa?? – I have 8 in my team and 6 of them regularly chip cents into the daily score).

This is wonderful research, with some many “unknown” variables (like “why does an article happen to do so well on a particular site?”).

It would also be good if you didn’t leave stumbling etc to chance (if that’s your current stance?) – and got a small team to Digg, Reddit, stumble etc every article to see which of these sites are accepting articles from which writing sites.

You’ve got us all thinking, which is great – well done and thanks, revivor

This is an interesting race. I look forward to seeing who the winner is. I find articles on animals and a look back on the history of sometime do well for me. I have seen my Triond earning increase quite a bit this month and some without too much networking on my part. Keep up the good work.

Great info Martie! I’m starting to publish different info on different sites also. Sports does well for me on Bukisa and the pay is much much higher.
