First of all, if you belong to a freelance site then it is best to stick with that site. Would be scammers will advertise they need a great writer but they will only pay through PayPal…DON’T BELIEVE THEM! If they are honest employees they will pay through the freelance site and will have a review so that you can decide whether or not they are reputable enough to work for.
Second, if you happen to find yourself in a situation where you are not getting paid, I would suggest looking up the titles of your articles online and see if it is posted somewhere as for sale; if it is, post a comment that the articles belong to you. If you cannot find them then I would use Blogs or article sites to publish your work, you may not get any money from them but at least your scammer won’t either.
For those of you who are just starting out as writers it is probably in your best interest to follow these simple tips and to trust your instinct, use common sense, you know that old saying “If it looks too good to be true, it probably is!”
