Find out what type of writer you are.
Just the other day, I came across someone who mentioned about me in her blog. She was talking about her achievements as a writer and those who have helped her over the past one year since she started writing. I skimmed through and she referred to me as a top-notch writer in Triond.
Wow! A part of me feels honoured to be regarded as a top-notch writer. However, another part of me tells me I don’t deserve that title. I have just regarded myself as a writer. I know I’d like to be a top-notch writer one day, but unfortunately, I don’t think I’m anywhere near that status. Anyway, how do you regard yourself? What kind of writer are you?
1) Ad Hoc Writer
I would call myself as an ad hoc writer. Some people call it writing when they are free or on a part-time basis. Whatever it is, you are definitely not writing full-time. You may already have a 9-to-5 job, so you write after working hours, at leisure.
2) Accidental Writer
You can say that I’m an accidental writer. I never saw writing as a passion before. The only acknowledgement I had for any form of writing was when I was in Grade 2 when my poetry was selected for a competition. I have dreams of becoming an author, but I have never been totally driven towards that goal. In fact, I was just looking for ways to make money online when I came across Triond. That was when I got hooked.
3) Research Writer
Research writers love to investigate, find out more and research about their topic of interest. They make great article writers for newspapers and magazines. Most of the time, I write from the top of my head, and doing research only when the need arises.
4) SEO Writer
An SEO writer is concerned about the highest paying keyword and write articles according to them. He is concerned about maximizing resources and generating the most revenue from his articles.
5) Top-Notch Writer
Last of all, there is the top-notch writer. These writers write very well, has a good grasp of the grammar and language, and very knowledgeable about their topic of interest. They are entertaining, have a passion for writing and work hard to ensure no mistakes are made in the process towards the perfection in the art of writing.
There are many writers in this world. We are all driven by different objectives in life, thus we fall into different categories or types of writers. Whatever moves us, be proud of being in a hobby or profession that is gratifying in so many ways.

I think I am a Research Writer but also love to write just from the top of my head… whatever comes to me but I do enjoy writing interesting, thought-provoking articles.
I strive to be a top-notch writer. I try to be sure there are no errors, but once iin a while one creeps up and it drives me mad.
Good article, thank you.

Nice article. I reckon I am a mix too. Sometimes I write off the top of my head, and other times I research and write SEO articles.

I don’t think it is good to just be one type of writer- you then become predictable. It’s good to mix it up

I love to write, it is a passion for me although I do not consider myself a top notch writer either. I also enjoy research.
