A True Confession of My Ultimate Experience in Triond

It’s been three years since I joined Triond and now is the perfect time to share all my experiences here.

I never really dreamt of joining a writing company like Triond. I was just surfing the Internet last summer of 2007 when I came across an article promoting Triond from associatedcontent.com. From that time on, I kept wondering what if I give it a try. I wrote my first article entitled “All About Life“, but sadly it only made 10 cents during its first week. My friends were telling me to stop already because I was just wasting my time but instead of getting discouraged I tried harder to write articles that will attract more readers. From my observation, during that time, the articles that generated more money were those articles that were in a form of a list. I wrote so many articles  but the one that placed me in the hot user list before was my article 7 Scary Ghost Towns: Eternal Remnants From Abandonment, Death and Destruction.  My family never believed that Triond would pay until I received my first payment via Western Union. It was not that big money but at least I was able to treat my mother and my younger sister in a not-so-expensive restaurant. From what you may have known also, there are just some people whom you couldn’t just please. Even until now, I still don’t get the reason why some articles are more recognized than the other articles where in fact they just have the same concept. Well, I think it’s just a matter of who published it first. I am not a professional writer. As you can see, I don’t have a perfect grammar but at least I try not like anyone else who just gives up so easily when they are criticized. What I enjoy doing most here in Triond is reading other people’s article—although my friends may not know it because I don’t usually leave a comment.

Who is your favorite Triond writer?

I have so many favorite writers here but my personal pick would be RJ Evans because he writes with passion and dedication. What you think is just a simple article turns out to be something as good as those that are seen in magazines and newspapers. Aside from him, I also have my personal favorites like Ruby Hawk, Unofre Pili, Nobert Soloria Bermosa, etc.

How many page views did your articles get and how much money did you earn from them?

I know most writers do not disseminate such information about this kind of stuff but I’ll do it anyway. To tell you honestly, I did not earn much because I don’t publish articles much especially now that I’m too busy with my studies. From the time I started until now I just earned $234. Out of the 110 articles and photos I submitted, 7 Scary Ghost Towns: Eternal Remnants From Abandonment, Death and Destruction made more than 50,000 views.

What advise can you give the newbies?

The secret of being successful here in Triond is just to “write and write what you feel is good”. There are many writers I know whom their articles did not make to the hot content’s list but earned as much as those who made it. And else, you don’t need to be at the top for you to say that you are a good writer.

Thank you very much! It is really quite humbling to be named as someone’s favourite online writer!

I must say I have a similar experience to you. My first month on Triond I Made just $2 and a few cents (can’t remember how much) and some of my friends were a little cynical to say the least. I am glad that I stuck at it, however, as I make a little more than that now.

I do enjoy writing, I have to say, but what is (almost) equal to that process are the reactions to the work that wepublish – which is generally positive and encouraging.

Thanks again for the kind comments – and a Happy New Year!

It’s funny, you write something and expect it to explode, and you get a few views, and yet something else is far more popular
