A Sucker Logs on Every Minute

Over a year ago, in Triond’s forum a shill began hawking Factoidz. 

At the time I didn’t know he was a Shill and his job was to go to other writing sites and post something like:

“You’re wasting your time on this lame site!!! Factoidz pays 6X more!”

I read his post, and fool that I am, went over to Factoidz. 
Now I take full blame for not reading the Terms of Use.

I Always read the TOS.  This time, maybe because I was so anxious to get that 6x more I couldn’t wait to begin writing.

Had I read it, had I seen that Factoidz gets irrevocable rights to my writing I would NOT have joined.

I started  as “Member”, applied for a post as writer, and was elevated to that lofty perch.  I wrote a few more articles and yes!!!!  The $$$ was SIX TIMES MORE THAN TRIOND!

I came back to the Forum and began to Shill for Factoidz. 

A woman posted that Factoidz was a trick.  That they started the new Writers at a high level, moved them to Staff Writer, and when they had posted a certain number of articles would drop them to Writer then back to Member without Warning and confiscate all their earnings.

Oh, you must have done something!  All the shills bleated, and me, preferring to see her as a Crazy Lady and Factoidz as the payer of my light bill, agreed with them.

Oh yes, right there in Triond’s forum are remarks I posted which defended Factoidz.

I wrote a number of articles, moved up to Staff Writer, and got a cheque for $60.00.

I had about 100 items up, all good pieces, and was ranked very highly in a number of different categories.

Then it started.

A slurry of negative comments on an article I’d written about Rutherford B. Hayes. (Who?) 

I didn’t respond right away as the nasty comments were ridiculous.  This was a factual item, the facts available in any quick wiki.  I hadn’t even expressed an opinion. 

Then came the stalking, one site to another the Shills followed me. 

And that is when I recalled what the ‘Crazy Lady’ had said.  She had described, in detail, what had been done to her, she who had been a Staff Writer, ranked # 1 in a few categories. 

I had an unfinished article about  George W. Bush in which I was backing up every single paragraph with authorities.  I decided to publish it.

This  article was attacked by the Right Wing Nut Jobs, (this is before the Tea Party was formed).

I then was dropped to Writer and then Member, all my articles confiscated.  All the $$$ in my account stolen by the one and  only employee of Factoidz, the owner. 

I began posting my experiences on every  writing site.  Others who shared my experience would pop up  but be drowned out by the Shills. 

I recall one Shill in particular, the most vocal, who stalked me  on every single site claiming I had ’spammed’ other users, (this term was taken up by Mike Quac himself, the one and only employee of Factoidz and the owner). Spammed?  I didn’t even read other people’s work. 

During the year, since my ignoble descent on Factoidz, my very own stalking shill was reduced to Member, joined by other Shills who had attacked me.  In fact, almost all the ad hoc shills of Factoidz had been dropped to member within about 3 months of me.

And here it is, August 2011.

Look in the Forum.

You must find a shill touting Factoidz.  And I, taking the mantle of Crazy Lady will warn them.  

But they won’t listen.

On the Internet there’s a sucker born every millisecond, and they are joining Factoidz.
