1000 Article Contest, Please are You Serious?

There is this one hyped up contest in Triond, though I don’t know what’s up at stake.

I’m always the shoot-first-ask-questions-later kind of guy, so I said, “yeah I’m game.” It was ’till later that I realized…these people are serious!

I can’t possibly get my mind on it, much less convince myself. Well, if I were ever to participate, it wouldn’t be a fair competition, I’m too good! Nah, I kid you. I can write ten articles a day: those are newsworthy, quality good-reads, but then they are just news. News articles die off after a given duration.

SO participating was no longer an issue. The answer is no. I can’t possibly write a thousand articles now could I?

Can I?

Even if I can, perhaps I’m too lazy to do it. In my one month stay in Triond, (for which I’ve written about a hundred forty articles give or take) I have learned a couple of new things. First, if money was your goal, you are as good as dead. It’s all to no avail, no justice, unfair, unreasonable, translate it to whatever you like, but it’s just that. The time you will spend on writing your tons of article for Triond isn’t worth your time if you took a calculator.

Sure someone else found a great cosmic luck and shoot up top, but chances that would happen to everyone is the same as trailing dots…

Me? I write for Triond for the fun of it. The few bucks I’ve earned in four weeks won’t live long, but the experience and practice I got are forever. I’m even looking at my first big break to the freelance world. (If you are that person, I’m not mentioning you because I am rampantly impatient. *smileys*)

Although I don’t mean to discourage you if this is your way of battling things in life, you know, suffer through it for yourself and realize later…’cause that’s a perfect mirror of me. And of course who am I to tell that what worked and not worked for me will be the same for you? It’s a random act of fate as everyone says.

So you asked me of a thousand article challenge? Try ask me again later.

This isn’t a contest. All this so called hype arose after I wrote an article to say that I personally was aiming to have published 1000 online articles, spread over several sites, by December 2011. People don’t read articles carefully and I’m amused at the way this has taken a different angle :-)
I love writing and for myself I thought this was a fun thing to do. It has nothing to do with money really. It was never meant to take off, but I guess the article hit a chord in people somewhere!

You are right Val Mills, many people comment on Triond without reading anything more than the title and they completely miss the point.

I think Valz didn’t say it as a contest but said it is her personal goal.

just to clear things up, someone read Val’s article and posted a quote and quote “contest” article, and then another guy posted another at Bukisa, so on so forth, just thought it would be fun to tell them its not a contest. the title was plain sarcasm, don’t dwell ’bout it too much

    :D

have more belief in your work, Sib … some of my oldest news articles suddenly took off when (a further) scandal hit the main character … you never know when or where (and sometimes why) your views suddenly come from

Hey, did someone really mention the article on Buksia, that is hilarious. Thanks for the follow-up comment.
