Writers Write: Fear No One, Fear Nothing

This is a comical commentary dealing with some of the issues faced by modern Internet writers.

Once, having been given the assignment of writing how to be a good writer, I entertained the idea of starting with the title Baring Your Soul: Getting Naked to be Rich and Famous With Your Writing.  I was quickly reminded that I must carry the standards of “good rhetorical philosophy” and “facts and evidence”.  Good Rhetorical Philosophy is rational and probable.

It may of taken 20 years to earn a college degree, but the time was well spent.  I like a good science paper with credible statistics.  Don’t worry I just took my own temperature and I do not appear to be running a fever.

Yes! Yes! I understand we are supposed to loathe all our college English instructors and professors.  Do not worry.  I do.

However, I must not tell a lie.  Okay, I must tell this lie.  Many think that there is no need for standards in writing and that just the mere desire to be a writer is enough.

I beg to differ.  Writing requires good grammar, good spelling, good science, and great creativity.  Okay, I am going to do something I believe to be wrong.  I do not believe you should publicly criticize a business partner.  However, the people at the joeuser website- where I have my Preserving Life BLOG have low standards.

I have seen featured articles where there is no punctuation, paragraphs, and bad spelling.  Okay, I understand that the person who wrote it did not have the proper skills to write properly.  However, I cannot understand why the JOEUSER people would highlight the issue in their featured articles.

I believe that there is social personality that has ideas and beliefs particular to them.  In this culture people like to appear super sophisticated with their superficial criticism of life and how life functions.

Okay! I know I have not explained myself properly.  However, spend time with young kids and you will see them laugh as they speak to each other with a language all their own.

Now, this may make good entertainment for them.  However, good writing it is not.  Some one in my past once accused me of being an educational snob when I mentioned I had no use for people without a college degree.

Well I carry this charge with great honor.  Pigs like mud.  I ain’t no pig.  Oh! Excuse me! I am not a pig.

Now, some of you may disagree. You are right.  By no means am I an excellent writer. In fact, if it were not for Windows Word, I wouldn’t be able to sign my name.

However, I read some of what people write on the Internet.  Let me tell you those 12 years of public education and all those college years are not proving them selves.

Okay.  I will always have severe disagreements with all abortionists.  Yet, the manner in which a person delivers his or her argument should lend merit to their argument.

Nothing is worse then trying to read an article that resembles a grammar and spelling train wreck.  More time is spent trying to figure out what the person meant to say then actually discerning the message.

The tragedy is that every one has something to say, but many are invisible to the audience.  Many people will not bother with an article with one mistake, much less more than one.  When I was given a copy of Men are From Mars and Women Are From Venus I read some of the first paragraph then yelled, “Take this trash away from me”.

There is flippant garbage that is not worth of my time.  I am a man of science.  Show me the facts and I will make up my mind.  Carefully crafted sentence with the intent of appearing intellectual do not impress me.

If I remember correctly, the premise of that book was female biology and male biology makes each member of the human species have different thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. What foolish assumption.  No way this writer could have actual verifiable credentials.  All people think, feel, and act, because of what they have learned through experience.  End of sentence, period.

Now, there is some chemist female going around telling people on her BLOG and a book she wrote that romantic attraction is chemical-at the level of DNA.  I have a science degree and have no problem calling this woman’s writings nothing but voodoo science.

Oh, but let me not be so harsh.  Some scientist once claimed that we search for mother figures or father figures in romance partners because of the experiences we had with our caregivers when we where babies.  We cannot remember the pleasure we received from looking at our young parents faces, but our subconscious does and as adults we are attracted to people who can make us feel this pleasure again in life. By pleasure I mean comfort, joy, and happiness from the smile and tender voice of a parent.  Get your mind out of the gutter.

More voodoo science.  I will use myself as guinea pig. Wait I said I was not a pig.  Okay, in the interest of science I will pretend to be a pig.

If you do not know by  know I have it bad for brunets.  Angelina Jolie is the perfect woman.  I used to attribute my attraction to hot tall sexy brunets to the influence of the Hispanic culture.

However, my appeal in the Hispanic culture is more to the Spain side and not so much to Mexican side.  No one in my family is Spanish.  I would not of had any exposure to anything resembling Spanish from Spain in my life.

Yet, I am attracted to tall light skinned brunets, like the kind you find in Spain.  I have no attraction for the Mexican 4ft dark skinned woman. Yes, I know.  The science is really not showing here right now.

Okay, quick to our science bat mobile.   I have seen pictures of my mother as a young woman.  She was a very attractive young Mexican woman with Spanish features.  Talia, a Mexican music pop star also is a woman I have been attracted to and who has Spanish features.  Lady, X, who I call the love of my life was very much Spanish in nature even though she would not recognize this fact.

However, when I wrote about the Mexican citizens propensity to unlawful behavior is because I have seen it first hand in my own mother.  Even though she was a very attractive young brunet knowing her as a real person I could never be attracted to her or a woman like her.  There goes the whole theory that we search in romantic partner qualities that bring us the same pleasure as we received when we were babies.

Talia and Angelina Jolie are very beautiful women whose physical aesthetics are appealing to my senses. However, I do not know any of them.  Therefore, outside the superficial and male immature fantasy laden brain there is no real chance of romance with them.

Lady X, however, I met, got to know, and eventually fell in love with her.  It was not her fault.  Propriety, demanded, that we could not be together.  It is better to know whom you are and where you belong, then to spend a life not fitting in.  I was just not worthy of Lady X.

Okay, put away the Kleenex.  This is an essay on how to be a good writer.  Now, pay attention.

Writers have to have souls that bleed.  I once yelled at God for giving me such a miserable life.  He answered, Jesse, if you do not know what they have been through, how can you honestly help them?  You may think pain is the problem.  The inability to put to good use wisdom gained from pain is your real problem.

Yeah, Yeah, you’re life sucked.  Welcome to party.  What a shame, that by our selfish hoarding of our pain many have to go through the same or worse. A good writer has a soul that bleeds.

A good writer knows his subject.  Many cannot make their case because they are not educated.  They start, but they can never finish.

A good writer must paint a beautiful word picture with the brush strokes of good grammar, good spelling, and creativity.  Tell me what the following words make you feel.

“You must love life so much that every day you wake up with a joyful melody in your heart”.  My friends this is art.  I had heard many variations of it and I honed till I got to where it should be to truly represent life in all her beauty.

“The ability to use the elements in your environment in order to accomplish your potential”, is also mine.  In a college class in a land far far away some college students and their failed in life college instructors where having a discussion about how success could not be defined because it subject to each person’s experience.

Well there you are.  I have defined success and it fits all molds.  You can argue if you like.  However, it is an impenetrable statement.

Okay, am I bragging?  Maybe a little.  However, I am really making my last point about a good writer.

A good writer is confident and does not waiver from his core beliefs. No one who does not write can call himself a writer.  Writers write.  Fear has destroyed many unfulfilled lives and it is there waiting for you.

Want to be a good writer?  Start writing.  Pay attention to grammar and spelling.  Know your subject.  Fear no one. Fear no thing.

I love the way you,ve put this im a young intellectual whose been searching for a cause beyond belief to try and diversify why i think the way i think.By reading your article it made me feel something, maybe im the type who enjoys a good read. Its probably the same way of thinking this understanding of way of communicating and using the words as a literal sense as in to picture something in your mind. As they say great minds think a like i second to that but theres always room for marginal error which can justly chage a perspective from within. A sick souls food for nourishment will be the writers writing to make the feeeeeeeling :D Please give me some feed back on my writing as to i want to become a successful writer like yourself witha great passsion to use words ina litteral sense to chamnge a perspective and posssible some food for thought. At the end of a long day happiness is whta evry human strives for and will get from other peoples inspiration to will do something useful. I believe if you,re writing something write it with full confidence and passion as oppose to writing like a volvic touch of fruit with no fruit.
