Why It Cost Money to Publish a Book

So why does it cost money to publish a book? Isn’t it supposed to be as you write the book they like it and pay you to publish it? That would make since to me! I mean hot damn I was getting ready to publish a book and realized that I have to pay like 2 grand I about shit my pants. I think that is bull. I mean you can publish it for 100 dollars but that is the sucky plan and you don’t get all the good features. Life is hard! So I wonder how the lady who wrote the twilight books did it! That like 10 grand shit she must be rich to get all of her books published. Unless if you publish one you get the other like ½ off. Well it still pisses me off that I have to pay for it. Hey not everyone can pay that we have things to do and take care of. That also goes along with making an invention you have to pay around 5,000 dollars to go thru the whole process. And what if you do publish or invent something with that company and you pay all that money and it ends up being fraud! Well then you’re in deep shit because that would be a hard on to reverse . I wonder if anyone thought of this I haven’t till I tried to publish a book and some people where saying don’t use this place they steal ideas and don’t use this place they are not very good! Well some places you can go because you have to have a literary agent. So once you have one of those and you publish your book you end up having only 2% of your money cause you have to pay everyone else. Yea that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. That’s why you just need to self publish a book its easier than it sounds but you still have to pay a big price but you get most of the money that you earn from your books.
