What could happen using self-publishers.
People have to worry about self-publishers. I have been through it twice with two books and things haven’t turned out well. My first because was my fault because I didn’t have it edited, but they didn’t tell me that I would have to do all of the marketing myself. If I didn’t do the marketing myself then they want me to pay them.
The last book I published with them was a poetry book. I had pictures inserted into the book. The pictures all came out to dark, and they wanted me to pay them to fix their mistake. Then there was some other small mistakes with the book. They had already had for sale before I even seen the first copying, and I have to pay to fix it because the book is already on the market.
I have found out the self-publishers are about the money and not good quality books. The publisher I worked with was great when they were taking my money, but always did a poor job at fixing their mistakes.
Writers are looking for ways to get their work out there and it’s hard enough as it is. We don’t need people taking our hard earned money and not giving us what we desire. I have spent over $6,000 and I regret at times because of who I dealt with.
Please if you are looking to self-publish, just watch out who you do business with. You how to make sure that you know as much as possible about the company.
