If you are a beginning writer and looking for places to make some money from your work here are a few sites that might pay off.

As a beginning writer you are probably looking for some sites that pay money for your work. They are not as easy to find as one might think. Here are a few I have investigated and what I have learned about them.
The nice thing about this site is that your articles are posted on different sites, allowing for a better range of viewers. If you write good content most of your articles will at least garnish a few views on their own.
Another nice thing about Triond is that you receive passive income from your articles. Which means that each article continues to generate money as long as it continues to get views.
The downside of this site is that generating income is a slow process. You have to do a lot of leg work to get your articles viewed. Joining social sites helps a great deal as does writing quality articles with really catchy titles that draws readers attention.
Bukisa works pretty much like Triond. You get paid a bit more for each hit your article gets, but because the article is only posted on Bukisa itself it is a bit harder to get hits.
One of the things I really like about this site is that it gives you suggestions for tags that will get your article more readers. Which helps a good deal.
The downside of this site is that like Triond, generating income is a slow process and you need to help of social networking to really get the readers to make any real money.
While I think writing for either or both of these sites is helpful, I would advise beginning writers to view generating income from here as a long term project rather than a quick check.
This is a blogging site and well worth looking into. They are constantly hiring new bloggers on a variety of subjects.
Here again, the pay is limited and comes slowly, but they do give you an option of an affiliate advertiser which can increase your revenue.
Helium is a site that gives you several ways to make money. You get paid per article based on the number of writing and rating stars you earn in a given period. One star of each pays $.50 an article and this continues to go up with each pair of stars until you reach $2.50 per article.
You also receive a portion of the advertising revenue your articles generate. While this is not a great amount it seems to be higher than either Triond or Bukisa. Helium really advertises you as a writer too which helps a lot.
Helium also offers chances to earn money by placing first, second, or third, in writing contests. These contests are offered weekly and cover a variety of subjects. The prize money ranges from $60.00 for a first place to $30.00 for a third place.
There is also a marketplace where you can write an article on a specific topic that a business is looking for. These articles are purchased for $20.00 to $200.00
This is a site that pays you roughly $1.50 per article, as your improve they may pay a bit more. Your revenue however, is based entirely on whether someone buys your content. At least that has been my experience so far.
They do allow you to write on specific topics that people are looking for and try to sell an article that way. In the few weeks I have been on this site most of the write topics have actually been for videos rather than written articles.
Constant Content like Associate Content gives you a list of articles businesses are looking to purchase as well as allowing you to write the articles you want to write.
What I like about this site is that they let you set the price you want to get for each article and the purchaser then buys the articles they want. Like Associate Content however, your income is based on the number of articles you actually sell.
Writing for income is hard work, and there is no easy way to make money writing. However, these sites will give you some place to start in your search for ways to generate income from your hard work.

I am with Associated Content as well, though I am at clout 4 now, I have made above 1.50 for an article. I find I make more on poems there, a penny for 6 views. much more than elsewhere.

Thanks for the info Martie! AC used to pay $3 per article but seems all the sites are cutting the pay lately.

Great advice. I’m an aspiring author (writing a novel) and looking for a way to get other work out there (poems and short stories mostly) while I write. Just started on Triond, and I think I’ll look into Helium next. Again, thanks for the article.
