Writers have to change their life style, according to the changing times. Now, the global crisis haunts the world. How can the writers cope with this situation?
It’s true that the freelance writing is a flexible profession. However, writers cannot go on postponing the deadline to complete their projects endlessly. If they do, then, they must be ready to starve!
In these days of economic slowdown, needless to say, the freelance writers have to be much more productive. Keeping a tight schedule must be their way of life. And it’s a must to practice speed writing.
Unlike those working in the day-time jobs, writers must be prepared for spending time on writing any time of day or night. They have to plan schedule.
Is it a boring life? May be. But, if the writers plan well, the life will be interesting
Have multiple projects at hand
At a single moment, you can write one or two words or a single sentence. You can not write an article within a minute. So everyone could do just only one small step at a time.
So, is it not possible to do multiple projects? No.
What is needed is the ability to split big projects into doable small segments. Doing one segment at a single sitting for fifteen to twenty minutes will make the life of the writer, not much boring.
Splitting the project into small tasks and scheduling all small segments into the writing plan of a particular project is a good way of accomplishing multiple projects. It’s an art. It has to be practiced by the writer.
Keep an eye on payment
In these gloomy days, many companies may collapse without paying the writers and many might cheat the writers. So, writers have to be cautious in choosing clients and the writers’ markets.
However, the writers need not degrade themselves accepting the cheaper pay. While being active in completing projects, the freelancers have also to be capable of trying hard to get good paying sources.( for helpful tips, see my post: “ Get Updates on New Writers’ Market and New Ideas for Projects “)
Throw away the anxiety
The psychological effects of the current economic collapse on the professional are more disastrous. The writers are no exception. An important attitude that every writer should cultivate is the habit of being always free of anxiety. Anxiety is the deadly disease that would kill the writers’ productiveness. Beware of it.

Thanks for that. One thing I know helps me is to set aside a certain time when I will write and sticking to it. After a while, if I am NOT writing during that time, it began to feel “weird”–like I’m not doing what I’m supposed to.
Best,
