There are a plethora of places you could go to start off your online writing career. There are websites that offer, revenue share, upfront payments and there are also websites that offer a range of freelance writing positions for you to apply for. 

Demand Studios 

Demand Studios is one of the most popular places to find an online writing job. Demand Studios, is a US based company that offers freelance writing positions, copy editing positions and filmaker positions.  You can apply online, and once you get accepted, you can start working and earning money via paypal.  You get paid twice a week, on a Tuesday and  Friday. The good thing about Demand Studios, is the fact that there is pretty much unlimited work. If you really want to make a good living, you can do so by working for Demand Studios. 

Zemandi 

Zemandi, is good if you want to make a little extra money, you cannot make a living working on there. However the work is pretty much unlimited. The basis of Zemandi, is writing reviews, blog posts and various other content writing. Once you sign up and get accepted, you can start writing straight away. You have to earn $20 before you can get paid though, and pay is weekly via paypal. 

Freelancer.com 

Freelancer, is not just for online writers, it has plenty of other work on there. You have to sign up and create a profile. Once you have done this, you can start applying for positions, if you have a good profile and good work samples, you should get some work within a week. You get paid via the freelancer system, and you can transfer that money into your paypal account.  They do take a percentage of the fee though so be aware of this. 

Odesk

Odesk is great for those who want to work online, and get paid an hourly rate. You have to go through quite a long process to get started though. First you have to sign up, then you have to take a test about the website. After you have done this you have to fill out all your details, such as your past experience, your resume and various other pieces of information. After all this is complete, you can start applying for work.  You can really make a lot of money on odesk though, because once you get a good reputation, the work can pretty much be unlimited. 

Bright Hub 

Bright hub is another upfront payment website, once you are accepted as a writer, the work is pretty much unlimited. You have to go through training first though, so be prepared for this. 

Revenue Share 

There are a wide range of revenue share writing websites out there, and if you really make an effort you can pull in some serious cash. The websites you should consider joining are, Triond, Hub Pages, Helium and Suite 101. 

If you really put the work in, when it comes to online writing, you can really make a good living, you just have to be aware that it requires, patience, hard work and dedication. If you are afraid of hard work, then you should not consider becoming an online writer.
