How to Earn Good Money as a Writer

You have discovered that you have a natural talent to be a writer and that you can find the words which will inspire others. You are also able to constantly produce articles with interesting subjects and content. So how do you use this wonderful talent to earn good money?

Just like all the other talents that people have, writing is a gift that is bestowed upon you and it is entirely up to you how you use that gift.

One of the first things that a good writer has to decide is whether they wish to take up writing as a full time professional career, for example as a freelance writer or if they are only looking for a residual income from their writing skills.

Residual income from writing can easily be obtained by having most of your work published with one or two of the many sites that provide this type of article distribution service such as, Triond and Bukisa

These types of sites will pay you on the number of page views that your articles achieve and on a revenue sharing basis from their advertising income that is accumulated. Some, but not all of these residual income earning sites will want to own your work before they will publish it.

The amount of money you can earn with residual income writing will be determined by, the number of articles that you publish, the popularity that you and your chosen topics gain and by how much you promote your work.

In general terms you can expect between $25 to $75 a month from this sort of writing activity, but only after your articles have been published for a while and you have become an established and recognized author with them.

Freelance writing jobs are available from many places on the internet, but the most professional online service seems to be Elance

The type of work that would generally constitute freelance writing is web content, blog post writing, ghost writing, editing and proof reading.

Each of these activities would be made available to a freelance writer as a project, which would either be offered to you as a straightforward item of work, or for which you could bid for and if successful have the project awarded to you.

Each project would have a value of income, depending on the type and the amount of work that would be involved. But again in general terms you can earn between $500 to $1500 a month, once you are established and well recognized as a professional freelance writer.

In some cases, if you have the opportunity to acquire contract work as a freelance writer, then the earning potential can be much higher.

If you are serious about your writing future you should consider doing both freelance work and residual income activities, because then you will be able to manage to have income during the lean times when there is less opportunities for either writing activity.

Always remember that the enjoyment of writing is much more about the inspirational creation of a quality piece of work, than the relative amount of money that you can earn from it.
