What most of us understand about “writer” in its context? How to become the most convincing and successful writer to gain recognition from the readers? You will learn the useful tips here to succeed in your writing job.
Being either a part-time or a full-time writer is a blessed job. Its status can be as equal as a teacher. As a writer, you become an excellent educator to educate people with your moral rich contents; a brilliant doctor to help others to stay healthy; an extraordinary beautician to teach people to look beauty and young; a great scientist to provide people with latest inventions; a great poet to craft the nature into a great masterpiece; a fantastic religion practitioner to sing the greatness of the existence of the God and etc. In conclusion, as a writer, you’re playing many roles with your diverse knowledge and wisdoms.
Do you consider yourself as a writer? If I write words by words, do I characterize as a writer? Yep, you’re a writer. You don’t have to spend much time writing a 15cm-thick novel and get it sold for million copies to get yourself qualified as a writer. If you’re writing for your hobby, or you just want to play around the words, do you still consider as a writer? It won’t inspire you to spend more than 10 hours to write in a day, but my dear friend, you’re still considered as a writer. That means you don’t have to write 14 articles every 20 minutes. You just sit there and put your words, phrases and sentences in your mind to express what’s within you to get yourself a full membership of a writer.
You may have read my previous article on how to become the most successful writer here. Here, I share with you the conditions you need to become the most convincing writer in the writing world to help you gain recognition from the readers. I hope these useful tips will help you to become a brilliant star in your writing career. Cheers!
For a writer, your article or manuscript is a product. To market your product to a large group of clients, you must first build up your brand name. Simply put, it’s impossible to get recognized for one new brand name in the mind of readers. It needs some time to develop. You may need one year, two years or may be more to make your name standing out among so many brand names in a competitive marketplace.
Your brand name should be rooted to high-quality, unique, innovative, stylist or trendy, wide range of choices, reliably, eco-friendly, and first-to-market. Once you’ve yourself rooted in these criteria, your brand name will be established for a long haul.
People tend to buy their familiar products. They like good, reliable, well known and great brands. So, it’s very natural for them to stick to their familiar brand names. In my case, if I change my name CHAN LEE PENG to Momochan, there’ll be fewer readers and may be none will read my work. This is because they don’t know who this Momochan is. Royal readers read your work because they know you, or when they curious on someone who has climbed to the top of the writing world. In other words, your brand name is successfully built up via a channel of internet, blog, forum, web site and discussion board. Read the tips here to help you building your brand name.
A powerful brand name has the ability to cut-through the competitiveness of the writing markets, and it’s also able to retain the best readers in its way that delivers superior results in both short and long-term. In a nutshell, brand name is a tactical way to unearth the distinction in all your writing materials. A writer that fails to brand itself and its writing is destined to be shoveled in with all the other writing materials available to readers in today’s competitive marketplace.
Don’t expect everyone to understand you. Put yourself in your client’s shoes. Think of their needs, their expectations, their questions and their contexts. Then start thinking how you could best cater your points to them. Your delivered points must be something memorable, simpler and clearer. Try map out your idea into a picture, so that you can clarify your own idea. From here, you’ll have to decide what content you want to communicate with your reader, what’s the style of your message, how are you going to deliver your message to your reader, what verbal cue will you use to deliver your message, and finally what visual cue will you use to enhance your presentation.
Get yourself sit down and start to write at least 4 articles a month. It won’t take you long as you just have to spend about a couple of times a month.
Some titles are really eye catchy and thus they’ve been put to the top of search engine. Since the content is low in quality, they might have spammed by the readers in the social networking (such as Stumbleupon, Digg, Technorati and Reddit). Due to this reason, they’ve been pulled down and no longer will they be seen on the search engine ranking. It’s not advisable to trick people with eye catchy title but low in quality content as the readers will soon come to judge whose work is worth reading and whose is not.
No matter what writing platform are you in, remember not to submit junk. If you provide inaccurate, over-wording, and redundant articles, you’ll give a very bad impression to your readers. And in most cases, your articles will be thumb-down instead of being thumbed up.
If you think the article is good, regardless whether it is written by a new writer or a seasoned writer, give them your support by submitting their articles to other sites. They may not know you who did this on their behalf, but this doesn’t matter. You’re doing this good deed to help them to grow as a successful writer in the future. When you keep on doing this, over the time, your wisdom will grow.
No one prefers to hear bad words. Beware of your words as they might hurt other people’s feelings. So, when you leave comments to your friend’s works, make sure that they’re supportive, and positive. If you’d like to point out the writer’s error, try to mail them personally so that they won’t feel embarrassing in front of the public.
As one of the writers in the writing world, you should unite with other writers. One stick can be broken easily, but a bundle of sticks cannot be broken easily. If we writers unite heart to heart, we can be a strong team to face a challenging world.
When someone’s content is gaining popularity, you should praise them. In contrast, when someone’s work is rejected, try to comfort them to help restore their confidence to write.
No matter whether you’re writing for Triond, eHow, Hubpages, Bukisa, Associated content or any other writing platforms, you’re a respectable writer. Try not to differentiate each other. You should regard them as one big family to exchange idea, thought and writing experience. By doing so, you’re helping yourself to learn from a diverse group of writers from the world. It’s very important not to jealous the successful writer, but you should see this is a great opportunity for you to learn from them.
It’s always a mistake when one discriminates each other. Some will only read articles written by native speakers but they ignore the existence of other non-native speakers who can write a pretty well article. Even their flow of sentences may not be as natural as the native speaker they may have some extraordinary ideas to deliver. I salute to these types of writers as they’ve courage to write in language other than their mother tongue. Furthermore, it’s not an easy job to write in languages that are totally different from one’s native language since it’s not talked, heard or written so often as in the environment of the native speaker. So, please give them your thorough support!
As a writer, you should pay attention to what is happening around you. From as small as a germ to as big as a whale, it can be a good source for you to write.
In the writing world, all writers are equal. We’re not divided into “superior” and “inferior”, we are all equal. So, don’t look down upon the new writer! It’s an important note to acknowledge that you don’t belong to “Republican” or “Democratic”, but you’re “NGO”. Think that, you’re a respectable writer who exists here to help each other to grow for the betterment of tomorrow.
While getting excited with new inventions of the latest gadgets and devices, do you know that the power of words can be as huge as one atomic bomb? Your words influence one’s mind, your voices touch one’s heart, your thoughts purify one’s mind, your ideas inspire one’s life, and your suggestions improve one’s lifestyle. That means your articles can be more inspiring and valuable than all the powerful gadgets, and luxurious products money could buy.
I’m confident that you’ve fulfilled the criteria described above, without really concerning much. You’re now the most convincing and successful writer! Congratulation! Now, start appreciating yourself as an honorable writer and go write! Welcome to the writing world!
Before ending this article, let’s pray for lesser sufferings and agonies; world peace; better economic growth; lesser natural disasters like tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruptions and other calamities; and lesser diseases. In contrary, let’s pray for more wisdom, intelligence, health, and wealth.
Lastly, I wish you all good luck in writing. Happy writing and happy publishing!

Kewl! I don’t consider myself to be ‘a writer’ but you know, -this helped. Maybe I am a writer.
I call myself a Web Page Builder, -that is what I do. I only have a few clients, do a few sites per year, add a few clients every year, update what I’ve done for them mostly and yet, I can call myself unequivocally a Web Page Builder. -So why should I not also call myself a ‘writer’ as well? Numbers alone stand that I have ‘written’ more articles than websites built.
Hmm… something to think about.

Thank you for a well written article. I to agree that all writers are equal. Negative comments are the worst. I don’t understand why a follow writer feels the need to put someone down. Keep up the good work and pray in my area we don’t see any hurricanes this year.

Nice article. You have some good points especially about being nice and supportive. I am always baffled by the people who take the time to post nasty comments on people’s articles for no apparent reason. At least Triond is usually a pretty supportive place (and when it is not, there is always the “delete comment” button).

I believe every word in this article, however I hope everyone remembers my profile name jewelsofmine.
January 3rd, 2009 at 6:10 pm
this was a good resourceful article and it pretty much hits dead on with everything you need to gain the convincing title but i have to disagree personally about the “be a good speaker” bit…in my opinion a great convincing writer is someone who writes what they know and if they’re passionate and intense and true to what they write then readers will soon follow. Anyways i feel this rule of thumb doesnt always play to the article writer’s technique as opposed to a story book writer… (but these are just opinions) Nonetheless this article was informational and i look forward to more of your articles!!
