Earning Online by a Beginner

These are some experiences when I decided that I want to earn some extra money online. Some could probably relate to this.

The road to online freelancing is not as easy as it seems. I am still starting out on my online career and whether I may be successful or not on this endeavor, still remains to be seen. I have searched a lot of terms in Google and Yahoo with keywords like, “online jobs,” “part-time jobs,” “work at home,” and other more specific terms regarding the kind of work I would want to do like research, data entry or transcript and other things I could think of.

Here are some of the things that I learned so far:

1.  Don’t pay money to get access to jobs that promises to pay you thousands in return. The first couple of sites that are at the top of my Google search list seem like an answer to my prayers. It continues to list figures that I could be earning for a seemingly easy job to do. It doesn’t ask for my qualifications or if there were any listed it would be vague and too general, where nearly everyone could qualify. As they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it hardly is. I haven’t talked to anyone else who have paid the fee. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t, but I don’t want to risk money and my information for the slim chance that it is real.

2.

Rea2. Read the rules first! If you are not based in the U.S., there are earning opportunities that are closed to you. One of these is Associated Content by Yahoo. It came highly recommended and I actually joined, only to find out later that I am not eligible to earn anything for my writing. I can’t do anything about that, so move on.

Res3. Research the sites. After finding a seemingly good site that has a positive review, check other sources. One of these is Reviewstreams. I joined, posted my review and it was accepted for consideration. My next review was instantly rejected saying they’re not interested to buy it. Well, okay so I wrote another one; still got automatically rejected. After that I looked around the internet and saw several complaints as well. Again, move one.

4.       4. I finally typed in the correct they key phrase at Google and it gave me several articles that have helpful hints on where I can join, where earnings are open to users even those not based in the U.S. This is one of them.

This is not the end, and a follow-up may ensue about the sites that I finally found that are open to everyone who can do the job well. If you are someone like me, who is starting out, good luck! If you are a successful online freelancer, I hope to get where you are.
