Never underestimate the power of comments. Comments and feedback from your fans and friends could take many forms, but each of them could be your source of inspiration.
Comments are essentially feedback from either our fans or friends. As simple as it is, comments tell us what people think about the article we wrote. Sometimes comments could start a spark of creativity in our brain. Be sure to read comments that you got since any single comment could mean several new topics to write and several new bucks to make.
Comments come from different kind of people reading different articles we had written before. As such there are a lot of variations in the content of such comments and how we should use the comment.
Misconceptions is somehow equivalent to what information theories called as noise. Most engineers believe that noises are useless. But noise actually play a great role in the development of creativity inside our brain. Several Artificial Intelligence Engineer had put use of induced noise in their artificial neural network model to make their AI more creative. Believe it or not, it does work. Several patents for hardest material are held by programmer who had no background in material science just because their experimental AI invented them.
Misconceptions implied in a comment could motivate a writer to clear it. Of course you can clear the misconceptions up to some degree by replying to the comments. But a better way would be to write one or two articles to explain in detail why it is a misconception. This way you could earn additional money as people read your new articles and you have a reason to link article where the misconception started to the new article clearing the first misconception.
Strawman argument is an argument stated based on misrepresentation of opponent position. This is a fallacy people commonly commit in group discussion. Usually these arguments are related to reader’s misconception about the content of our articles.
If there is someone putting forward a strawman argument, there is a good chance that somewhere in the internet, there are other people who think about your article the same way. Of course we can try settling the argument by replying to the comment back and forth. Unfortunately, I don’t remember Triond stating that they are going to pay us money for our comment. They pay us money for writing articles for them.
Rather than writing comments long enough to become an article on its own right, it is better to actually write a separate article about it and link them. If you ask your opponent to write their view as articles as well, then you just made yourself a friend. This is far wiser and far more profitable for both you and your opponent.
Sometimes people read our articles and tell us via comment that our article lack something. For me this is the best kind of feedback possible. People leaving precious advice and suggestion in their comment are good candidate for a true friend. Add them as your friend as soon as you see them.
Getting an advice in an article however, doesn’t mean that you have to fix that article. I would even say that such action is unwise except for the case of grammatic mistakes. If you fix the same article according to the advice and suggestion given to you, later readers may come and see that your article contain no mistakes or incompleteness like said comment pointed. This have some possibility to make later reader think that the person who gave you advice didn’t read your article before giving any advice. Personally, I don’t think that is a good way to say thank you for the person who had gave you their precious advice. I would prefer to use the advice for new articles, but your mileage may vary.
Sometimes people feel that the article didn’t answer the expectation they got when they read the title. If they told you so, then you just got a new topic for free. If you think you can answer the expectation, then write down that topic. Unfortunately, sometimes I have no idea how to answer those expectation. Perhaps I have to let someone else to answer that expectation for me.
Comment for other people articles
As far as I know, there is no law stating that the owner of an article hold the copyright and ownership for all possible ideas that may spark out from a comment given to said article. Feel free to read other people works and the comments as well. If a comment in other people article light up a spark of creativity in your brain, then feel free to write something about it and get paid from it. There are some chances that the other also read comments given to your articles, write something about it and get paid for it.
For sure, comment is a great source for any writer to find more topic, write about it and earn more money in Triond. Read them all and use them wisely.
