10 Tips on Writing Money Making Movie/tv Scripts

At 58 years of age, I have seen hundreds of movies and television shows.  Many years ago it became apparent  that script writers haven’t come up with anything original or creative in a very long time.

As you watch the screen, you will find certain aspects that are consistent throughout.  If you want to be a TV/movie script writer forget about being creative.  Combine the following into a script and you are on your way to a script writing career.

1.    Morality is relative.  In the view of Hollywood, it  doesn’t matter if the screen character is chaste, pure or honest. As long as the character is a nice person, then sex with anybody or multiple bodies is perfectly acceptable. Adultery for the nice person is also acceptable. It shouldn’t matter that the partner of the married person might also be a nice person, it is just right and natural that this adultery happens.

2.    The military is filled with stupid or megalomaniac Generals. In any situation that involves the military you must make sure that the Generals/Admirals have a couple of characteristics. They want to be in complete control of everything and they are basically stupid. Stupidity runs rampant in the military.  They are all stupid. In the end, only the civilian can solve the problem.  In all cases the Generals/Admirals should end up dead and the lower ranking officers/soldiers should see the error of their ways and repent.

3.    Abortion should be included in any script.  There are 2 things to remember when addressing the subject of abortion:

a.    All opponents to abortion are to be shown as narrow minded, prudish, ignorant and hate mongers.

b.    Abortion is done in the name of being caring and humane.  The abortion is done to save the life of the mother or the unborn child is so severely handicapped that it is not humane to let them go through life with such a handicap.

4.    Bash the Republican/Conservative. Always a good joke, you absolutely must bash the conservatives. Paint them as being narrow minded, homophobic, ignorant ,bigoted,  hate mongers of all humanity and wanting to destroy the planet.

5.    Christianity is evil. Any non-Christian religion is okay, as long as it follows a few simple rules:

a.    The religion that worships nature or the earth spirits is the best. After all the earth and/or spirits of nature are on a much higher plane than humanity.  It is best to be subtle in  putting this point forward. Whenever religion is involved in your script, remember, Wicca and like beliefs are good, Christianity is evil. Always show the beauty and wonderfulness of Wicca like belief how self affirming those beliefs are.  If you get a chance you can put in a jab at Christianity but don’t go overboard.

b.    Any religion must preach self power. Consider that there is no power outside of oneself. The the individual  character controls his/her surroundings.  All faith must be in one of the myriads of spirits/ghosts or the higher self. Prayers go to an all-loving non-judgemental universe.

c.    There is no such thing as a God or His Son, Jesus Christ. After all, the Christian God calls for subjugating oneself to a more powerful “OUTSIDE” source and that just cannot be allowed. The world is created by man and his intellect.

d.    If you are going to include the Judea/Christian God in any script, make sure that God has all the human frailties.  Some of those frailties are, narrow minded, limited in time and space, egotistical, etc.  It is best that God be nothing more than the universal spirit of love.

6.    Children are smarter than adults. It always makes for good humor to have the children smarter than the parents.  Especially the father, he must be a complete nincompoop who is inadequate at everything.

7.    White males are just stupid.  In a situation that involves females and white males, the female is smarter and more competent.  The white male is just around because he is supposed to be. He serves no real purpose. When the white male is involved in any situation with a black male, the same guidelines apply. The white male is stupid, incompetent and couldn’t make it without guidance from his black counterpart. Let’s face it, white males have not contributed anything to humanity other than subjugation of females and blacks.

8.    What script would be complete without sex. No script is worth its weight without some skin. It is imperative that some form of physical contact be included in your script. Don’t worry if your show is for television or the big screen. The director can make sure that a nearly topless nude scene is included in the television show. As time has gone by, we are getting closer to the complete topless scene.  It today’s television shows, the upper part of the female body is seen from the side. The angle is almost enough to catch a glimpse of the nipple.  It shouldn’t be long before the body is turned just enough that the Janet Jackson affair will no longer be the exception but the norm.

9.    Homosexuality should definitely be included. Once a taboo, now it is almost imperative that there be a little female on female lip lock action with the inference of some guy on guy action. After all there is nothing funnier than a gay male acting like a female and nothing more beautiful than female – female love. It is absolutely imperative that you include a character/s that are opposed to this lifestyle.  You must make sure those characters are painted with the same negative traits applied to Republicans/Conservatives.

10.  Once called Global Warming now it’s Climate Change. Always a good topic. This is a great theme for a Science Fiction type of script. Not only can you provide reasons why we should go back to walking and breathing every other day but it is a great tool to bash every conservative on the planet earth.  After all the climate change is due to big business and it is a well known fact that all big businesses that pollute are owned and/or controlled by conservatives and/or hypocritical Christians.

In today’s world, most information we get is from the television via network and cable news. However, we must be vigilant. It is always possible some truth may seep into the news broadcasts. We can counteract that by some good old brain-washing through TV sitcoms/dramas and movies.

So there you have it the 10 keys to writing a successful money making TV/Movie script.

If you wish to see examples of how these points are handled, watch practically any television show or movie. When you do watch, watch with an open mind. If you do, you will see the indoctrination/brain-washing Hollywood has and is undertaking. Granted it may be subtle but so slowly did the Colorado river cut the Grand Canyon.
