What is proper critique and what is not.
I slept naked. I woke up because someone had kissed me on the lips. It was my muse.
Triond has made many additions and improvements on its website in the year and a half that I have been here. One addition was the forum, a place where the Triond writers could exchange writing ideas, give new users a place to get advice from the more seasoned writers, share solutions for battling writer’s block, and generally get to know the other writers. How has this been working out for us? Rather pathetically, in my opinion.
I wrote and published an article (Triond Hot List) about the perceived incredibility of Triond’s “Hot Content List” in January of this year and it received a lot of attention.
After reading the comments on my news article on Roman Polanski, I asked myself if it is worthwhile writing news items for Triond at all. As I knew the reaction of ‘that is old news’ from myself reading other writers’ news articles, I found it necessary to raise the question for all to consider.
Some of the users here on Triond seem to think that they are receiving unfair treatment by the Triond editors. Are these claims justified?
We all write, some to be read and some others to be read and understood and there are many who write and delight.
Gone are the days of thousands of page views in just a matter of hours. Gone are the days of a community feel. Gone are the days of quality writing on Triond. It’s this last point that I would like to illustrate as being the main contributor to significantly less page views than Triond writers were used to a little over a year ago.
I self-published my book. This is what happened.
