How many excuses can you actually come up with to avoid writing? We all say we want to write, but do we actually do it? I’ve decided to share some of my thoughts on why we should banish procrastination.
Procrastination is an often maligned and misrepresented technique. People always say “why put off till tomorrow what could be done today?” Although this is true, it does not mean that procrastination is a poor work technique. Indeed procrastination, when used properly, can yield last minute nuggets of gold, or at the very least help you survive that term paper you forgot about until three days before the due date. The following is a short guide on how to properly procrastinate without stressing, staying up till two a.m., or out and out failure.
Blogging and otherwise self-publishing seems so great. I mean, I can get attention and appreciation, and possibly start imagining others understand me, and thus maybe I’m not as alone as I sometimes think, and so on, and so forth. But then I think back to what others much wiser than I have said about what might be said to “really matter”, and suddenly think, “wait a second”.
The three powerful enemies are most likely behind every writing failure. The writer, sitting alone in his study, is more prone to their attack.
