There are only four points of view for writing a story, novel or screenplay. All four are equally good, some writers are better at using one than the others. The only rule for using them is once perspective has been chosen, it must be used exclusively throughout that particular literary work. The four points of view are omniscent narrator, principal character narrator (not necessarily first person), roving narrator, & indirect narration (using memos, letters, telegrams, etc.) exclusively.
