Is it better to use your real name or a pseudonym when blogging?
Serious writers understand the importance of self branding for recognition as an expert in their particular niche. Your pen name and avatar should reflect your goal.
Anonymity in writing is a rather tricky art. You want to feel the fulfillment and acclamation when your good writing is associated with the byline that is particularly and singularly yours, more so if it is the name you were born with. But what drives some writers to hide behind pen names or simply choose to be anonymous?
Famous writers are known to use pen names, probably to escape being harassed by maniac fans. Should I use a pen name too?
Is it a good idea to use a pseudonym when you’re writing? Or is honesty the best policy?

While many people enjoy having their legal name on their pieces of fiction writing to gain recognition and a sense of pride, other people prefer to use pen names. Pen names, also called pseudonyms, can be adapted easily without filling out any paperwork or paying any fees. You will conduct all business associated with publishing your fiction writing under your legal name. The pen names will just go on the finished product.
I saw Michael Jordan on 60 Minutes years ago talking about the prison of his fame; for example, not being able to buy groceries at the store because a mob would gather. That image sparked this write.
