Week #7: Discovering A Sense of Momentum.

Personal Writing: Clarity

You experienced it. Can your readers?

What Ever Happened to Simplicity

In a world complicated enough, too few writers seem to value clarity.

Look Great… on Paper

Whether you’re writing a short email or a 30-page report; how it looks, and how you say it, is nearly as important as what you say. Anyone looking to be seen as a professional takes care in their appearance. You wouldn’t show up to important business meeting in torn jeans or with spinach between your teeth! The same applies to your writing. Your written work reflects on you when you’re not there. Just like the spinach between your teeth, an awkward presentation, spelling errors, bad word choice and otherwise poor writing distracts your readers and has them inwardly rolling their eyes.

Clarity of Writing: Seeing Through The Fog

I decided to subject some of my work to the Fog Index, just for fun. Apparently the Fog Index acts as some sort of proof of clarity of writing. Read on to find out more.
