For clear English one should not simply spit out facts.we should refrains from muddy language.the use of phrases that muffle the sharp edges of our meaning impair our style.we should be precise and to the point in expressing our ideas.there should be tightness in meaning.there should not be unnecessary slack in ideas.they make the style loose,writing  should be taut,Free of unnecessary words .we should use concrete and definite expression.a euphemism is “the substitution of a mild or vague expression for a harsh or blunt one”.as h.w.Fowler puts it.

our style depends also upon our reader.we should be ware of our audience and reader.the language that suit our reader should be used depending upon the thought and occasion.depending upon the stature,profile,relationship,closeness,warm,friendly formal in our style.clean right means finding the right  words for right use.the exactness in expression yield a control over dealing with the material.our command of words is nothing but command our life and experience.English has a wide vocabulary and it is flexible language too.in English there are many different ways of marking a statement.the words that are synonymous have fine shades of different too.we should be very practical to hat details,these shades of different and know how to express our meaning exactly.style is thus the way we select the words and arrange them as element of various structures.

For effecting a style in writing the choice of right words and phrases is very important .there are different words for different contexts.the suitability of words depend upon the suitability of the meaning of these words.For attain an effective style there is a need of constant concern of the selection of the right words at right place and a desire to extract the meaning.

                             Selecting the familiar words

Words that are familiar convey and sharp images and those that are unfamiliar convey blurred ones.there are different ranges of words that a layman to a specialist is familiar with.there are different jargon’s used by different groups.the writer who select such words for communication,confuse readers who accordingly in consequence discard such text as rubbish.

                                        Selecting the concrete words

The concrete words because of their limited range of interpretation convey more definite meaning than the abstract words.they are usually more forceful than the abstract ones.

                        Selecting the specific words

Unlike general words the specific words effect clarity in writing.the specific words create the image immediately in the mind  of the reader.

                          Selecting the short words

There is no hard and fast rule to find which words are longer and which are shorter.the longer words are usually n passive vocabulary.the longer words are usually difficult whereas the shorter ones are simple.for effective style the number of longer words we should be limited in the text.for finding the short words we should consider those words which are of ones ore two syllables.the longer words are three or more syllables.using more of longer words than shorter ones is overtaxing the prospective reader.
