Lackadaisical

Dictionary definition:

Unctuous

Dictionary definition:

  • Of the nature or quality of an unguent or ointment; fatty; oily; greasy.

Avuncular

Dictionary definition:

Furtive

  • Sly; shifty: a furtive manner.

Quixotic

Or noun:

    Yep, those sure are some nice words. You’ve also included my personal favourite word of all time, ‘quixotic’; I never know if it originated with Don Quixote or if he was named for the word.

    Thanks Samuel, Yes- apparently QUIXOTIC did originate from Don Quixote- not the other way round. cool word right?!
    But my favourite is kerfuffle…. just sounds so funny!

    Whenever I see the word lackadasical I am reminded of Dara O’Brien’s stand up joke about when he passed his driving test at an older age (i can’t quite remember what). I actually can’t read this word in my own voice, always Dara’s in my head! Great article though and I do love kerfuffle :D

    Nice List.. Onomatopiea is another great word as mentioned by Tommy – i learnt during my Masters. Cant remember the meaning though..

    I think the word nigger is the best word. It flows so easy and it’s such a funny word.

    “prerequisite”. Tell me that word isn’t the boss dickens to day. Prerequisite. It’s so good. And “crackdown” just explodes off your tongue.
