Poetry is not so simple as every one thought it was- just with the rhyming and simple rules-

here are a few simple definitions:

In poetry the rise and fall of a voice pattern is called rhythm.

meter-regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables.

free verse-sounds like an original speech.(free verse is just ongoing like reading a regular paragraph)

scanning-marks stressed and unstressed syllables.

rhyme-the repetition of a sound of a speech.

end rhyme-occurs at the end of  lines.

rhyme scheme-pattern of rhymes.

alliteration-the repetition of constant sounds in words that are else together.

examples of alliteration-

Greta gets gallons of grapes at the galleria

Onomatopoeia-the use of words with sounds echo their sense a Onomatopoeia
