Rant on Ridiculous Online Typing Habits

The majority of children all have either Msn, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, or some sort of email. I do too. There’s nothing wrong with people socializing with their friends but now there is a ridiculous trend of typing, especially for young children, as if your non-stop shouting or typing like they never learned how to spell properly. Everyone else (including me) hates it! Not only is it annoying, its also more confusing and harder to read. This is why we have school, to learn how to read and write English properly!

First off, we have the “caps lock abusers”. These are the people who write all in upper-case letters, as if they want to yell the whole time. NO ONE TALKS LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE, instead, why don’t you don’t you type like how you speak? It makes what these people say so much harder when you type like that, and no one appreciates it! Why would anyone do this? If you can’t see the words just zoom in to see, any updated browser will have that option. This is like if you use a wheelchair and you make everyone else wear one when they don’t need one, it’s perfectly unreasonable! If your angry or trying to express your point, a few words capitalized should suffice, its also why we have exclamation marks. But if you don’t have a reason or you just “feel like it”, no one else thinks its cool!

Next, there are the people who type in a language no one understands. They use contractions in almost every word and replace letters with numbers, I mean, who does that? They use L-8-R instead of later, 4 instead of for, G-2-G for got to go, etc. which many people use and understand but these people just take it to a whole new level. They start dropping random vowels in words (fortuntly instead of fortunately) , spelling stuff wrong (filodalfia instead of Philadelphia) , and start exchanging letters for numbers (s0cc3r instead of soccer) I can understand that you would want to type less but there is absolutely no point in doing this if it takes the other person a minute to read what your saying! Don’t do it, no one wants to talk to you if you make it that confusing, its bad for both people!

Many children these days have thrown grammar and spelling out the window because they think its cool or faster. Many people hate it when someone else does any of these things, but I hope everyone who does this gets it that there is NO POINT in doing this if the other person DOESN’T WANT TO or CAN’T read it!
