A good way to begin your written work is with a plan in a point form basis and this would usually determine the length of your work. You must construct your body of the work be it an essay, article, short story or any other type. Ask yourself why you are writing this work there are three W’s why where and what. What is the purpose of this where does it take place and why am I writing it and who in the community does it serve best. Always think of the audience as a writer entertains the reader he/she doesn’t want to be searching for the whys and where fores they want to be entertained and to see it it front of them credit the reader with intelligence and don’t lead them around in a pedantic just let it flow. Once it is written it needs to be edited and reviewed looking at the constructive sentences and the run on value, grammar and typo errors relating to which lines. Always use a spell check and thesaurus as much as possible. Don’t be afraid to redraft your work. It can only be improved, tweaked and tightened up which allows it to be read more clearly. Cut unnecessary words or even sentences and where possible reverse the wording in a sentence and become a word-smith. I have even seen a published and experienced author who I shall not name use audio taping to hear the words out loud and in fact you can tell the empty spaces and correct them I have used it myself to the discontent of another writer friend of mine.
