Songwriting

How to write songs by using events from your everyday life.

So, you’re trying to write a song?

No problem! People think songwriting has to be an extreme work of labor, when it doesn’t. Music is derived from your soul. Sounds cheesey, I know, but that’s how it is. Read biographies, and autobiographies of musicians that you like, thats how I found out how to compose lyrics. In all of those books I read, they all had told this scentence,”Hey, I should write a song about this one event that just happened!”

A certian event or experience in our life can bud into several songs. Who knows about your life better than you? Exactly! Say you just went through a tough break-up. Somebody you have been with and have known for a long time. You could write about how angry you are, or how sad you are. Any emotion has its “translation” into music. Fear, for example could be expressed through sudden high pitched tones, backed up by a deep undertone. I hope this has helped anyone looking to broaden their experience in songwriting.
