Creating a how-to article in five easy steps.
The how-to article is one of the easiest article styles to master. If you would like to write your first how-to article, read on for how-to’s for a “how-to.”

Your how-to article title should naturally contain “how to” so that readers know that this is a how-to article that will give them the information they are seeking.
Next, you’ll want to write an introductory paragraph that motivates readers to learn how to do whatever they are trying to master.
Examples:
If applicable add a list of necessary supplies.
Now, you simply embark on step-by-step instructions, using the Ordered List function in your Word processor. This will number each step for you. Try to make your steps action-oriented using verbs in your instructions. Make sure each point contains one main idea.
Example:
Avoid using words such as “next, now, then”‘ in your steps. Continue in a logical progression until you complete your instructions, making sure your steps are clear and concise so they are easy to follow.
Assure readers that by following the steps they will be able to successfully complete the project.

The how-to article is one of the easiest article styles to master. For newer writers, it is a good way to break into freelance writing, sharing knowledge that benefits both the reader and the writer.
