Writing a book is very tedious. It requires much time and attention if you are just beginning. Most of all thought it requires a desire that only writers have, the desire to write!
Writing a book is very tedious. It requires much time and attention if you are just beginning. Most of all thought it requires a desire that only writers have, the desire to write!
Have you ever wanted to write a book, but were not sure of how to go on about and do it? Most beginners just decide one day that they are going to write a book, sit down and write till they can not think of anything else to write. That is wrong! Writing is not easy, and takes loads of time and effort. But I will break book writing down into three easy steps
1: Obviously the first thing you need to write is a means of writing, be it pen/pencil or Microsoft Word it does not matter. Honestly it doesn’t make any difference how you go about writing your material as long as it gets written.
2: Think of your plot as your own backbone. Without your backbone doing most things in life would be difficult. Well same as with your plot, you do not necessarily have to perfect your plot to succeed in writing. However the more clear and thought out the plot the better. A plot that has some foggy area that was not completely worked out can cause an entire story to crash. Having loose ends can not only ruin the story but also having loose ends early on can cause a reader to loose interest. I suggest you sit down with a pencil and a large notebook. I recommend pencil so you can erase and notebook so you have everything together and protected. After you have acquired your means for writing write down the basic of your story and continue expanding. Expand on all the way down to what is going to happen in each chapter.
3: Expanding on your story is the same as mapping it out. You are laying out the details of your story and an overview of each chapter. By doing this, you will have saved yourself countless days of writers block because you have something to guide your writing with. The problem with just “going with the flow” is that the flow is not always there and flowing. Having this “guiding rope,” you can write much more clearly because you as a writer has set a goal to meet. It is much easier to complete something if you know how far away the end is. After you have everything laid out all you as the writer has to do now is decide what adjectives to use, how to phrase your sentences and keep writing.
All in all writing a book take a long time, so relax. Do not expect to be able to write thirty pages a day, instead decide on something simple, like writing fifteen minutes a day. Remember slow and steady wins the race; plan ahead and you won’t have to spend time making things up, for it will be etched in stone.

I liked your article. I just wrote a book myself and self-published it through Trafford Publishing. My book is a children’s picture book. It’s non-fiction. I did the illustrations myself which are the fun part. It should be out in six weeks give or take. I liked this article because not too many writers tell you how to do things. Like it’s some big secret or something. I believe in helping educate others on how to improve their efforts in writing. I applaud you for this article. Look me up on Triond sometime.

well aside from some grammatical errors i think that your article is informative and helpful. i believe the most important part of it is how you go into detail on how to properly structure your story instead of just “going with the flow”.
love ya lil bro, see ya when i come home.
