Glassie’s How To: Articles Made Easy

Many people love to put words on paper. Some do it very well – most fail at good promotion.

In much the same way as a property’s draw is often location with articles its title.  Having spent on writing a great article what a waste it would be not to give it instant promotion by adding keywords within the title.  When writing the main body of your article again you should give consideration to recent trend searches.  Obviously it would not be much of article if in reality it were not much more than a list of keywords and there is where the art of it all comes into play!  Long articles can be made easy for the reader by inserting pictures, diagrams or videos.  Often the very best way to approach article writing is not to write it as you anticipate it will be read, now that sounds a little odd I know but it makes a lot of sense when explained.  Rather than starting at the top and finishing at the bottom consider what you want to say – you cannot generate a title (the first thing seen) until the piece is finished.

Try to teach yourself to write in 8 simple blocks:

  1. Write a list of bullet points.
  2. Write the paragraphs to match.
  3. Write a conclusion.

Having written and read through your article you can work on the final 5 blocks.

  1. Think about whether you need a resource paragraph telling your readers who you are how you gained your knowledge.
  2. Consider the keywords you have used what tags they should be combined with.
  3. Looking at the main body of your article find the best description – remember it may be here that you loose readers before they have given any attention to the real work.
  4. Choose a title, something that has keyword/s is interesting and tantalising to readers – draw them into your work.
  5. Grammar, Grammar and Grammar – if it is bad the work is rubbish despite its brilliance!

When all that hard work has been done make sure it gets seen.  There are many paid to post websites available some publish across the internet others within their own world.  There is no real guarantee which is best, though what can be is that a good writer will always have an audience.  Sadly one is one, two a couple and just three can be considered an audience – make sure you add a few zeros by ensuring good promotion, if at all possible create yourself a branding – people look for brands!

When writing somewhere like Triond that offers an image/tag suggestion always look them over – consider if this theme was indeed your intention, while you may not choose to use them it give an indication of how it may be viewed by others.
