Guild Needed

Triond writers unite.

More and more I am reading about the growing anger and frustrations of scribes and wound-be writers on Triond…

We read about good writers leaving because their personal written material has been stolen and published elsewhere under someone else’s name.

We read about how some people are being favoured with the submission and publication of multiple articles a day while others find their submissions being declined or sent to revision for a myriad of stupid, non-existent reasons.

We read about people raising concerns about the financial accounting process at Triond and the errors in views that should up in individual statistical information on personal profile dashboard pages.

I have been one of the main proponents in writing scathing articles about the many shortcomings of this writers’ site.

I have written lengthy correspondence to the CEO and co-founder of Triond expressing and sharing legitimate concerns and seeking common ground for resolution and the response was that my list was too long and the issues and concerns that I raised would not be addressed.

In other words…Triond was telling me to fuck off and mind my own business because they just don’t give a damn about people who sincerely would like to make this a much better site for all concerned.

I wrote an article suggesting that everyone on Triond join in a 48-hour boycott to send a powerful message that someone at Triond needs to sit up and take note that the foot soldiers in this writing army are not happy but much to the delight of the powers that be at Triond, my suggestion fell on deaf ears and basically got zero support.

People need to realize that there is strength in numbers and for that reason I am suggesting that we need to forum a writers’ guild so that we are speaking with one voice so that our legitimate concerns and issues are taken seriously and are dealt with rather than each of us individually airing our personal bitches which Triond completely ignores…

“Oh, it is just that stupid asshole Jimbob1 bitching again but no one pays any attention to his rants and raves so why should we?”

Triond writers unite…I would like to think you are all concerned about our future here…join me so that I’m not the only one standing pissing into the wind…

Let’s speak with one voice to restore the basics of proper grammar, proper spelling and proper punctuation and basic sentence structure in submissions so that we are all playing on the same level playing field…

I welcome your feedback comments. Glib, insulting comments such as “Nice article”, “Good post”, “Nice share”, etc., are NOT welcome here…I want your thoughtful, meaningful feedback comments that an appeal such as this deserves.

Good read. Its a pity we lost Larry Fish.

I always advice people to write for more than one site, so that when another site has got its knickers in a twist, you have another one to fall back on.

Hubpages is my primary site. They are very professional, the staff listen to you, help you and respond to you and as long as you write good articles – you get good coverage.

As you noted, there is strength in number and you can count me in, on anything you want to do – that will help Writers on Triond. Cheers and Good luck.

    Hi Jim,

I admire your courage to speak so candidly about this matter. I do often worry about my material and how I can protect it from being used by someone else. I think if Triond wants to keep its writers, it should listen to their concerns. I too was sorry that Larry Fish left the site. How many more of us are thinking the same way?

Nice of you to mention this often I see my articles published on triond that have titles like mine, being so long on triond it seems like you get used to it. Stealing other people’s work is just pure laziness, a writer that does this has no thinking power

Thank you for standiing up for us all, Jimbob. It must be before your time but when I first started with Triond, there was a problem then, I can’t remember what it was about, but we boycotted Triond for a whole week. I don’t remember it doing any good though. I was itching to get back the whole time and a few writers ignored the boycott altogether. I would like to think Triond will listen but I don’t think it will make a difference.

I have yet to understand why or how some members have multiple articles published within minutes while others do not get published for hours or even days. Your article is dated April 2nd, but published April 4th; not sure why that is. I have had the same thing happen on occasion; maybe we should all start dating when they are submitted.
I have also noticed the articles that have the most broken English seem to get published the fastest. Why is that? Is proper spelling, grammar and punctuation no longer a pre-requisite for a good writer?
Your articles are always a joy to read, and are written with pure honesty which is a good thing. Well done once again!

We go back a while now Jimb and I still want you as my Union Rep should I manage to get back to work. I have noticed the quality of work taking a nose dive. Some articles I just cant understand! seriously not a word? I go back and re-read the article but because the use of past tense etc is so bad it still dosen’t read correctly. My worst gripe for now is the Triond Forum! I had my identity stolen and used to write condesending comments about other writers! I am now on so many writers hate lists! angry is LB shaped! but as with cowards they hide behind computer hacking and ruin others enjoyment of writing for Triond. Great work from you again. LB

This article is on point and I’m sure we all can agree to the truths that he speaks about. For example why only certain people make the hot list, get paid more for the same amounts of views….as the list gets longer. I encourage this writer to always stand behind the truth…and where you stand I’ll be right there beside you. Bravo my friend for having the balls to “Make it plain”.

I agree Bravo for saying it like it is! I do not come here very often anymore because of these very reasons plus more! I cannot spend an entire day clicking others articles living on a prayer that mine will be read. I just do not have the time and honestly have more pennies in my jar. The writing world has become saturated. Anyone can do it and tend to agree also there are some articles I have clicked on to read and they made no sense. While articles I have written are rejected. Ps if you choose to take any further actions I am with.
