Some Spelling Rules (Mnemonics)

Learn some English, and mnemonics. Start here.

An example of a Spelling rule:

Put i before e

Except after c

Or when it sounds like a

As in neighbor or neigh.

When trying to remember a list of words, it is best to remember by writing a story (about 1 page) using the words as much as possible. Making it more silly and unbelievable helps to point out the words. It will delete any moral(s) of the story.

Don’t try to write or speak the words too much to remember. This does not help but even makes it more confusing. You can try to learn the definition as much as you want but focus more on the spelling.

Also when you need to remember over 50 words, don’t try making a story, it will be too long. Instead use a puzzle with the words included and work on it. When you finish and think you can remember most or all the words, test yourself (the fewer times the better).

A good way is to study in the night and early morning, when you think you can remember ABSOLUTELY every word, do it in the late morning or noon time instead. This improves your senses, memory, and skills.

Doing Math problems increases your brain senses, it will help you remember words quicker. Also, learning similar words or Names or famous things help (e.g. Invader=Darth Vader).

Now use these tips for Upcoming Spelling tests, quizzes, or contests!
