Japanese: [Voc][hir] Animals

Since I’m learning Japanese, and my vocabulary still isn’t as good as I’d wanted it to be, I think it’d be useful if there were lists of vocabulary from different categories. For this reason, I’m going to start posting different lists of words, to help others interested in learn Japanese.

The first list is about animals, for each of them, you’ll find the animal in english, and how to write it in hiragana (along with the romaji).

Animals (どうぶつ)

Animal: どうぶつ (doubutsu)

Cat: ねこ (neko)

Crab: かに (kani)

Dog: いぬ (inu)

Elephant: ぞう (zou)

Giraffe: きりん (kirin) 

Goat: やぎ (yagi)

Hippopotamus: かば (kaba)

Horse: うま (uma)

Monkey: さる (saru)

Mouse: ねずみ (nezumi)

Rabbit: うさぎ (usagi)

Tiger: とら (tora)
