Grammar

There are so many complaint from the junior or the senior high school where the PPL students teach there, just because of their less ability and some fault to explain the grammar. They can not explain about grammar well because they do not master that lessons well. They just focused on the pattern without meaning or explanation of the use of each pattern. So thhey explain it badly to their students, and no wondering that there are so much complaint received now. That is why, Grammar is the main lessons that must be taught for students of english department in the first term because of some reasons.

The first reason is because there are many kinds of pattern to use for their daily activities. As a matter of fact, when they got accident and they want to tell it to their friends, so they must use the pattern or the other verb to explain. It means that they need grammar to express when the activity happen. And also ita can differentiate the use of verb in story at the paragraph. Sometimes, the fable or the legend use past tense to tell story to the reader because it happened long time ago. But unfortunately, when the students make a paragraph of a narative essay especially, they cannot use the riht grammar eventhey had been given examples. It caused by they do not understand much about grammar well. They just write it and read it, not to understsnd it.

The second reason is because the difficulty to remember the pattern. They get difficulty remembering the pattern that is why they can not use the pattern in the right time. There are so much different pattern, since the easy one untill the most difficult. It will  not be so hard to understand if they want to study it hard, not just hear the lecturer’s said. That is why, those are complicated to be used to show the time of the activity because there also many kinds of each explanation.

In conclusion, however, grammar not only have negative side but also give them positive advantages in conversation they make with other people.
