Triond problems continue into New Year.

I just finished reading an informative submission by the lovely LadyElena on a water crisis in Northern Ireland.
I attempted to provide feedback comment on the article, but was unable to post the comment because Triond kept trying to tell me that there was a problem on the form…the problem is that I was using proper punctuation marks which Triond refuses to acknowledge.
And yet they will decline submissions for “readability issues” including improper grammar and improper punctuation. Unfortunately they also decline feedback comments to be posted when proper grammar and punctuation IS used.
Following is my feedback comment, including the slashes, courtesy of Triond:
LadyE…that sounds like a regular disaster in Northern Ireland…hadn\\\\\\’t heard to those problems with burst water mains. Like I have told people on previous occasions that if terrorists really wanted to do us in all they need to do is disable for of our basic utilities and our nations would crippled…here for example, we primarily rely solely on one source of heat – natural gas or electricity…if the electricity goes out, the natural gas furnace will still burn but the fan motors to move the heated air from our furnaces will not work in minus 20 or minus 30 degree weather it wouldn\\\\\’t be long before people would start feeling the effects of the cold…we take our utilities for-granted assuming that they are always going to be there and always working for us…unfortunately there are no guarantees, especially in populated areas…thanks for the reminder that we need to be prepared for alternative options…something extremely important for us to remember…I naturally voted that I liked this submission…thanks and take care

For criminey sakes…here we go again…what a wonderful way to start the New Year. Triond declines submissions due to readability issues including poor grammar…grammar and punctuation go hand in hand and the use of an apostrophe is proper punctuation, except when a person uses punctuation (” or ‘) quotation or apostrophe Triond reminds us of the error in our ways and asks us to correct the problem…sorry, the problem is not mine to correct…

yes well all have these problems. I copy my comment and re-fresh the page, then paste. That normally does the trick, time consuming I know but these things are sent to try us.

I am aware of these issues and they are annoying especially those parenthesis when you are trying to post comments as well as ajax errors and forbidden comment.

Hi Jimbob,
Happy New Year. Aaaawh, so you’ve had to write an article to publish comments. I think there was a big error on Triond yesterday. I actually emailed someone to inform them I had tried 3 times to post comments on their article and they responded that they were having the same problems yesterday too
.
@lillyrose – I normally do that, but yesterday, even after refreshing, copying, pasting, doing the hula dance – no comments were being accepted.
Thanks Jimbob and to others who tried to comment and rated it up. I’m getting used to Triond now but what makes me glad is that Triond is just an alternative Writing site for me.

Nine times out of ten Jim the vomment does go through but the system says there is an error? come out of the article then go back into it and you may find your comment is there? that is how some people leave the same comment mutiple times! its not your fault it is Triond. However don’t lose ya cool over it its not worth it, just double check its there. LB

Jim, I know the frustration you are feeling; lately I have being getting error messages while trying to comment on some, not all, post. I simply try to move spaces or letters around, sometime it works and sometimes I just exit and come back later. I know we should not have to go to all that trouble, but I do it and be done with it. Keep smiling.

Yes, I know what you mean Jimbob. It is frustrating.
I just wrote an article on this this morning.

It is unfair and should be fixed as we are losing out on due to lack of comments and sometimes even the likes do not work.
