Comparative: 2 things compared- I am taller than him

Superlative: more than 2 things compared- It is the heaviest of the 5 packages

Adjective: a word that describes a noun; what kind (red, tall, old), how many (several, many, thirty), or which one(s) (those, these, that)

Articles: special adjectives, things that refer to a specific noun or any one noun (a, an, the)

Demonstrative Adjectives: point out a specific noun (that, the, this)

Proper Adjectives: adjectives formed from a proper noun (Mexican, Spanish, Australian) the first letter is ALWAYS capitalized, as this is also the rule for proper nouns

Other Notes

• Adjectives can come before or after their target noun (a red dog, the dog was red)
• Don’t combine “more”, ”most”, “less”, or “least” with adjectives ending in “er” or “est”
• For adjectives with 2 or more syllables, use “more” or “most”, not “er” or “est”
• More is the positive form of “less” (less being the negative form), and “most” is the positive form of “least” (least being the negative form)
• Some adjectives are irregular, and they have different forms for comparative and superlative than regular adjectives
• Some of the most commonly used suffixes to convert a proper noun into a proper adjective are      “an”, “ish”, and “ese”. The suffixes used to convert proper nouns into proper adjectives follow NO pattern at all, and there are no patterns
