Basic things to know when writing.
Grammar is the way in which words are put together to form proper sentences. It’s important to write well-formed grammatical sentences if you want to create a good impression and get your meaning across effectively.
Spelling matters. If you want to create a good impression in your writing and make sure you get your meaning across clearly, it’s important to get your spelling right.
Punctuation marks are essential when you are writing. They show the reader where sentences start and finish and if they are used properly they make your writing easy to understand.
Write them all down, don’t stop until you have nothing else to write. Then read them all over and decide what to use.
Stick to the things you know about, what interests you or what you’re passionate about.
Do it and do it properly. Even if you DO know a lot about a certain subject, you can always learn more.
Stick to the basics, no need to make it all overly complicated. Cut all the unnecessary words.
There is a site that I recently discovered and after skimming through it my writing improved immensely.

There is a lot of information that can help you become a better writer there, much more than in the flimsy overview I gave.
