Why Write for Triond: Other Writing Sites Make Far More Money

While getting paid well for writing is important, sometimes the challenge is more important.

My husband ask me yesterday why I spend so much time writing for Triond when there are other sites out there where I can and have made far more money with a lot less effort. I tried to explain it to him, but fear he did not understand.

Yes, I can make more money at a couple of other sites, and yes, like all of you I can certainly use the money. I admit that there is a certain satisfaction to writing articles that earn upfront payments in far larger amounts that some of my articles on Triond see in a month. I also admit that when I see those payouts in my pay pal account that are $100.00 and more I am absolutely thrilled!

I also would not stop writing for that kind of money even if I didn’t actually need it because it is thrilling to think I can earn a decent amount of money doing something I love.

I also know if I concentrated more on those sites and less on Triond then I could make quite a bit more money, and while logic tells me that maybe that is what I should do, I also know that I won’t give up writing for Triond.

The reason why is very simple. For me writing for Triond is both challenging and fun.

It is challenging simply because it is difficult to earn from your articles. When I first started out on Triond I was lucky to get 10 or 20 views a day. No matter how hard I worked on an article, no matter how well written I thought it was it just did not seem to get any views. While many people would have given up with such a poor return for their hard work it made me more determined to write more and to find a way to increase my readership.

I had to learn about all kinds of new things like promoting my work and SEO. I started to set goals for my self in terms of views. I made up by mind that I was going to get 50 people viewing my work on a daily basis, then 60, and so on and so forth.

I remember, the days when I would read about people getting thousands of views in a few hours and wondering what I was doing wrong that I had never even got a 100 views in a day.

This made me even more determined to do well on here. So, I wrote more articles, got more active in promoting my work and watched my number of views slowly climb.

Soon I was no longer looking for 100 views but 200.

Then one morning I woke up clicked onto my Triond account and noticed that I had gotten over 500 views in one day. I was ecstatic! Then one of my articles hit over 1000 views. I could barely contain my excitement. Never mind that that number of views only earned me $2.00, 1000 people had read one of my articles!

It took a lot of hard work and a lot of effort to get there but, it was one of the most rewarding experiences I ever had writing.

I also saw my monthly income slowly start to climb. While I am still making less than a pittance of what the same articles would earn on other sites it is exciting and fun to watch those numbers climb.

How could anyone not be thrilled to go from seeing a 2 cent rise in their income a day to sometimes as much as a dollar!

Now my goal is to see at least 5 articles reach the $20.00 range. I am hoping to see that at least within a year of writing, though to be truthful most of my articles have a long way to go to reach that goal. Still, for me, on this site it is a lofty goal and one that is worth the challenge.

So while yes, I do need the money I earn on other sites, and am grateful for those sites those sites simply do not give me the adrenaline rush that I get from writing on Triond and seeing my numbers climb slowly but steadily.

And who knows? Maybe someday, my income on this site may rival that on the more well paying sites.

Such are the dreams of a writer.
