Why Triond and Not Xomba or Hubpages?

Triond, Squidoo, Bukisa and Associated Content – Alternatives to Google Adsense revenue sharing. Discusses how the revenue sharing model of these sites is helping writers who do not an Google Adsense account.

I had been trying to make money online using all sorts of ways: PTCs which pay too less for the effort you put in, paid surveys which you never qualify for and many more. But finally I have realized that creating and publishing good quality content on the internet and inviting people to read your articles is the way to go.

I came across this site called Xomba and was really excited when I learnt that it pays you a fifty percent share of the earnings from your articles. It felt that this was better than trying to start a website or blog of your own because building traffic to your website is in itself a very tough task. Also you need to have substantial original content to keep the traffic flowing in order to earn a decent income. With Xomba, the thousands of members of the site are an available source of page views and the testimonials I read from the users of Xomba about their earnings really got me excited.

But the shock came when I learnt that you needed an active Google Adsense account to earn any revenue from your posts. This is all very good for many people because they have a functioning Google Adsense account. But for those who do not have an Adsense account it can become really painful. One might argue that he can very easily open an account with Adsense. But the real picture is not that rosy. Google has made their Adsense policies very strict and it has become really hard to get a new account. You have to have a website or blog of your own and you need to have “substantial original content” in your website in order to get the Adsense account. Now, not wanting to create a fully functioning website of my own, was the very reason why I had come to Xomba. On top of that if you are from India or China, which are the highest growing internet markets, your website should be at least six months old before you get a Google Adsense account.

Now, for a writer who is just starting his career as an online writer, it would take considerable amount of time, energy and patience in order to build such a website and then get the much awaited approval from Google Adsense. The wait and effort could very well kill his enthusiasm very soon.  I, for example, have not been able to get an account from Adsense until now.

It is not only that new writers are facing problems with Google Adsense. Banning of veteran Adsense accounts has become a very commonplace problem these days. Google has very strict policies against click frauds and so it should be. But in many cases the account holders are getting victmised as a result of unlawful activities by others.

Xomba, Hubpages and most other Google Adsense sharing site operate using a model in which the members have to have a Google Adsense account to earn any money. This is obviously a time tested and a very popular revenue sharing model, but using only this model is making these websites lose millions of potential good articles. The writers are also missing out on the online earning oppurtunities.

On the other hand, websites like Squidoo, Triond, Associated Content and Bukisa also work on the revenue sharing model but they do not need the writer’s Adsense account in order to help them earn. They calculate the total earnings from the writer’s articles and pay a percentage of the income to the writer’s PayPal account. Hence the writer does not need to have an Adsense account to earn money.

This is something Xomba, Hubpages and other similar websites might think about implementing in their websites as an additional payment option for users who do not have an Adsense account.

But since this is something which is not probably going to happen any time soon, writers like me will post their articles on Triond, Squidoo, Bukisa or Associated Content.

I just wanted to point out to those that have a Google adsense account that Hubpages is excellent and they share 60% of the impressions from Google, Amazon, eBay, and Kontera allowing you to maximize your earnings there. While I can’t say I am rich, or living off of my earnings I can say that I currently make $130 a month from Google and a couple of bucks from the other programs because of Hubpages.

I also have a Xomba account, but it bothers me that they have Kontera ads there and don’t share that revenue or a higher percent of the Google Adsense revenue.

Finally, while I highly recommend Triond for international users, it isn’t the best of programs for me. I have a couple dozen articles there and only three earn money for me. The others have brought in a few cents in the year they have been there and nothing more. I keep planning on going back, but I have so much going on…

I fully subscribe with your view. It is tough to get google adsense. i am also not able to get account from them. Though, my blog is five months old and I hope they will allow me to proceed after one month. Triond may not be the best, but its presentation and community is what I like most. Though, I have not published too much article here but I hope i will work here in good measure. thanks for sharing.
