Has Google made changes in its algorithm once again. I experienced high traffic in Knoji, once Factoidz, for reasons I do not know.
For the first time in my online writing career, I get traffic by the thousands in a day. I started to notice this high traffic in my Knoji account two days back. I usually get a thousand views daily but now it’s 3,678 views and the traffic still keeps on increasing (see a screenshot below). At this time of writing, it’s actually 3,690. I did the screenshot minutes earlier. My articles are drawing a lot of traffic for reasons I do not know.
Maybe Google has changed its algorithm once again in such a way that it favors display of my articles? If this goes on, then I would be earning more than 2 dollars a day without even writing a new article. That’s more than enough to pay my monthly internet connection.
This is the reason why I like it in Knoji, the defunct Factoidz, because my articles draw out a lot of traffic without much effort to promote it. The owner of the site must have a proprietary system that allows such traffic to flow in. I actually wish to have another site like it which can also draw similar numbers of traffic. So far, I have found none. My latest article in Triond drew only 6 views since I posted it two days ago. It uses a different system to catalyze traffic. I need to comment on other writer’s articles to bring in some traffic or post my articles in social networking sites to let others see my composition. But I just do not have enough time to do this. So I’ll just let the search engines discover my articles if for any reason it becomes valuable to readers. Or let the Triond writers find my articles if they are curious to see what’s up in another writing site like Knoji.
Another reason for this high increase in traffic would be because I had more links coming from other sites with high ranks where I posted a few articles, with links to my knoji page. But it could also be due to the popularity of my articles because I noticed that those articles that get a lot of traffic are also those articles which have been gaining a lot more traffic than the others in the past. I think it’s a complicated thing to explain the reasons for this increase in traffic.
Well, whatever the reason, I think it is a welcome event that any online writer should be thankful. There must be meaning behind this event. If this translates into good revenue, then this will once again inspire me to post more useful articles. If not, then I’m all the more happy as my work was found useful by people looking for the kind of information I provide.
