Why Don’t You Go Beyond the Level of a Blogger?

You should not confine yourself to blogging, only to be labeled forever as a blogger. You should go beyond that to embark upon the career of a writer in all genres.

How long will you be blogging? Don’t you want to go beyond the level of a blogger? It is true that as a blogger, you have been blogging in all genres of writing without unduly worrying about the characteristics of those genres. Then why do you shy away from the premier article writing sites like Triond.com, ezinearticle.com, associatedcontent.com and helium.com etc?

Perhaps you are inured to the style of blogging and you don’t want to cross over the limits of a blogger. It is true that the freedom that you enjoy as a blogger will not be available to you as a writer of an article or an essay or a debate article or a column or a tabloid. You need not unduly worry much about the length of a blog – it may be even in a very small paragraph containing just 50 words and there seems to be no limit for its maximum limit as used by the bloggers. But the ideal limit of a blog is between 300 to 500 words.

Moreover, you can write a blog in any style- since there seems to be no definite style or format for blogging ; you can blog in the first person, or second person, or third person and even in the question and answer format. While blogging, you need not unduly worry about the standard styles of writing like MLA or AP and other recognized styles.

As a blogger, you need not worry about the content or quality of a blog.In other words you are carefree as a blogger.You can also have feedbacks for your blogs in the form of comments. Hence, you do not want to lose the advantages of blogging. Above all you have been blogging for the sheer pleasure that you derive from it and for your self-satisfaction; But you are earning only a meagre  income or not anything from your blogging.

Instead of getting labeled as, ‘once a blogger always a blogger’, you can go to the next level or higher plane of writing, by writing articles in sites like Triond and its associated web sites. Your articles are published in these sites according to their subject content and quality of the articles.

Therefore, you have to focus on the quality and other characteristics of the article, which radically differ from a blog:

1) Unlike a blog, your article should contain a minimum of 400 words and a maximum of 2,400 words. If you submit any article to a print or online publisher, the article word limit should be adhered to as prescribed by the publisher;

2) Your article should contain an introduction, a body and a conclusion;

3) Your article should be written in a narrative style, either in the second person or in the third person, but never in the first person account; However, when you write a ‘how to’ type of article, it is better to write in the second person and when you write an editorial type of article, it is better to write in the third person;

4) The article content should be relevant to the topic of the article and it should be self-explanatory;

5) While you may write a blog even in a single paragraph, your article should be divided into separate paragraphs, each paragraph containing a separate idea;

6) When you confine yourself with blogging only, your nomenclature is also confined to the ‘blogger’ category only; Whereas, if you embark upon article writing in different genres, you become a  writer of multifaceted personality like essayist, columnist, novelist, screenplay writer and poet etc

Therefore, you are hereby called upon to cross the ostensible boundaries of a blogger and write articles in different genres and become a ‘writer’ in the real sense of the word. Above all, when you embark upon to write articles in all genres in the premiere sites mentioned above, you have more scope for exposure to nurture your writing talent, besides earning according to your talent and potential.
