Some reasons why we comment.
We have our own reasons for leaving comments on others work. There’s no such thing as we have to but rather a matter of we want to.
1.For the sake of friendship.
In the first place, we usually give comments to those who are in our Friend’s List. They are our priority here.
2.To return a favor.
It’s nice to repay someone for commenting on our published articles. They take time to read our works and leave comments so it’ll be nice to do the same and show our appreciation.
3.The topic is catchy.
Whenever we see a recently published piece of writing and the title is just too interesting to ignore, we’re convinced to take a look and then eventually leave comments especially when it’s not just the title but the content is amazing too.
4.Some writings are just too nice, you can’t help but comment on it.
There are those in here who finds it hard not to comment because it’s such a wonderful piece worth compliments.
5.For encouragement.
Those who comment merely for this purpose are the best. I have some friends who haven’t publish anything but always leaving comments of encouragement on my writings.
6.They are asked to.
A lot of times, we are asked to comment on our friend’s work. Sometimes this is a must when you really want a wider range of readers.
These are some of the reasons based on my observations from myself and those who comments on my page.

I totally agree with this article. In the past couple of weeks there have been similar posts which makes me wonder why is there such a problem with commenting? Personally, I am surprised to have as many “friends” as I do and only get maybe 3-5 comments. I make an effort to comment on as many of my friend’s posts as possible and try to have something to say to support them. Obviously, not all people feel the same way.
Good post!

I leave comments for all of the reasons you state here except for the last reason. Maybe it’s just me, but to ask someone to comment on somthing seems to put a responsibility on that other person that that person did not ask for.
I consider every comment I get a gift. And we all know that asking for a gift is bad manners.

This is also a good way for them to improve on their writing if another editor suggests or comments on their work.

Wow, I agree 100%, well said. Sometimes is hard to keep up with everyone’s work but I try my best, to comment at least on one piece every day.

Commenting on other writers is good for a lot of reasons, I like meeting new friends and also seeing what others are writing about.
September 28th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
I like comments on my work because I genuinely like to see what people think. Of course, the amount of comments you get is directly related to the amount of comments you give- & as I have been busy of late, I don’t have many comments.
But I do like this article.
September 30th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
I like your ideas about leaving comments.
October 1st, 2009 at 12:25 am
Great expressions – all what we think about.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:44 pm
I fully agree with your comments. We are all here on Triond to help and support each other, like a community.
Making comments makes writers feel someone is not only reading their articles, but giving out their thoughts on the matter.
You can also promote Triond articles on Shetoldme as well. Here’s the link: http://tinyurl.com/yavyd9v
