Most of you have noticed that some articles obtain constant reviews while some articles do not receive any views in ages. Sometimes some articles start at high note but suddenly after few days or weeks they could not even manage to get even single visitor.
Why is it like this?
Why is it that some articles performance in terms of visitors is so worse?
What is the reason?
There are several reasons like improper topic selection, poor promotion, bad writing, etc. These are few to be mentioned. My main motive in this article is not stress on above reasons. You can find more information about this in other articles.
However, I would like to stress on a fault which most writers do while writing a article is that they select topics which are hot for the moment. It is common notion and suggestions by some Triond writers that you should write articles on the topic which are currently in news or demand.
This notion of writing articles on the topic that are currently in news or demand, I feel backfire many people. I am also backfired by this notion and not once but several times.
Below I am giving some examples, to explain the above fault.
1) The Great Indian Hockey: This article I wrote, when Indian hockey performance was dismal and it was under severe criticism from media. This article in his initial one week managed to get few visits but suddenly its visitors vanished in thin air. Since, then it is waiting for them to come back.
2) Attacks of Terrorists on Mumbai-a Question to Politicians: I wrote this article, when terrorists attacked Mumbai last year. This article got good reviews and visits in first two weeks but after that, it is a desolate place.
3) Sri Lanka Strategy Against India and How to Beat Mendis: These were written when India was about to take on Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka in cricket. They never picked up any popularity and just managed to get some isolated views. Those isolated views also stopped coming once the cricket match series is over.
As you can see from the above examples that writing articles on topic, which are in news, do not always gives you good returns.
One of the main reasons, which I believe, is that when the topics are hot, media cover them so much that it does not leave much space for individual writers to carve out a sufficient piece of pie. Therefore, I suggest that it is better not to run behind hot topics.
A proof to this fact is that some of the best writers of Triond do not run behind latest topic. Some authors are:
1. CHAN LEE PENG,
2. CutestPrincess,
3. eddiego65,
4. JK Kristie,
5. Kristie Leong MD,
6. M A Bhanpurwala,
8. R J Evans,
9. s hayes,
10. thestickman,
11. writing4angels, and
12. Liane Schmidt.
