As an inexperienced “Blogger”, I have struggled with my work unexpectedly disappearing.
Last September I joined a Creative Writing Class, one class was about Blog Sites, the teacher suggested that we might like to check some sites out. She gave us the name of one site to have a look at. This seemed quite adventurous for me, because I felt it would be too difficult, I did nothing.
One of my interests is Gardening, I wanted to identify a plant on the Internet. I went on one site, put in my question, they asked for my e-mail address, I typed it in, and it came up “Congratulations you now have a blog on the “growsonyou” social and gardening site! Within ten minutes I had four people answering my question and ten people welcoming me to the site.! I very quickly had to find out how to answer all these people.
Now that I had a blog site, the next day I looked at the site the teacher had recommended. That didn’t seem too complicated, so I filled in my details, and yes, I had a second Blog site.
I am not very experienced with a computer, and one of the down sides for me is, the fact that my work suddenly whizzes off and disappears from me. I have no idea where they go to. Sometimes my husband and computer coach, can bring them back for me, but other times, I can only suppose that my pieces of work are “flying round in the ether” somewhere.
Next week at the Class, I recounted my experiences at blogging, they laughed at me! In the coffee break, a classmate came and told me about the site she has been using for a couple of years. What did I do? That evening I had a look at her site, I found her page, but this one worked differently to the two others. It was run by a German company, but definitely was not as user friendly. I thought it would be a good way of keeping in touch with my classmate in the holiday times. Having accepted my details, I couldn’t then find my way to my friends site. It was whizzing off again. My husband said I was pressing wrong keys, but no, even as he did it, my words disappeared at a rate of knots. I now have three blogsites!
There is a big BUT here, on my newest site, I saw an article about, “Earn from your Blogging”. I thought, Why not? I now seem to spend my evenings blogging with people from all over the world, why not earn some money from it. The site was called Triond, I had a quick look at it, read a few bits and pieces that people had put on, and then filled in my details…. Yes, I now have a fourth blog site. It has taken me a while to familiarise myself with the site, and yes, my work on this site is equally adept at whizzing off! Where does my works go to?
As yet, I have to earn something, but if my work ever whizzes back from the ether to my computor, I shall be able to present it to the Editor, and if it is accepted …. I shall earn something from my blogging expereinces.
