When One is a Poet : a Healthy Release

Writing is a healthy way to express emotion.

I love to write and I love to read. These two entities have been a passion, a friendship, kinship if you will, to me for many, many years.

I started reading novels by Stephen King when I was 9, romance novels when I was 12 and anything I could find in between. when reading took me to poetry, I instantly knew that poetry would forever be a parrt of my life.

Reading was, and is, a way out of the ordinary, a chance to step into some one else’s world. To view a page of written words is to view a day in the life of some one else.

Writing, for me has almost always been based in my experiences or experiences of those nearest to me. I try to convey the knowledge that I have gained, and continue to gain, over the years.

When it comes to writing poetry, I want the reader to feel what I have felt, or feel at the time that I wrote it. That is the joy in being a poet, no other style allows me to convey so much emotion with such a short vessel. Often I share pain in writing more than joy, but do not fret, I am happy, life is good and I write happy things too, from time to time.

The writing vessel keeps me safe while expressing myself.

So for my readers who ask if these (my sad poems) are my experiences, yes they are.  I write to express, and share all of my knowledge and from time to time, the pain.
